Pair trading , it is not mandatory to do in same sector. It can be done on 2 different sector (inter sector) if your market view is one sector outperform the other or can use index also as hedge to remove market risk. You have to calculate spread or beta hedge before a spread trade. The main idea is a cyclical stock may react more to fluctuations and news while the defensive stock doesn't. So if you wish To be long . Buy a cyclical stock and sell a defensive and vice versa in case of your view is short..........This is a popular strategy used by hedge funds to reduce overnight risk.

I think that's why we are picking the Same sector.. Any sector that goes up or down, all stocks behaves same momentum.. but anything is possible in market and this scneario also possible.. May be Saketh bro can answer better!

Hypothesis is that weaker stock will fall more than stronger one and you will end up making profit in this scenario as well. I think only condition in which we need to make exit is when weaker stock starts becoming stronger than stronger stock.

Our Boss invested about 45 lakh in this trade and Loss booked is only 9.82 laksh only at the end of March. Here the loss is only 20% not 60 % as per our Boss calculation. I calculated this figure by assuming the entry dated as 1st March and exit date as 28-3-24,. If the trade kept till 31st May, then booked the loss would be 25.79 laks. This is around 57% of Capital Loss very near to our Boss calculation of 60% . The one good thing he asked the followers to consult the financial adviser. The lost words of disclaimer is the only good thing in this videos.

It is not a genuine trade. If genuine he would have taken each one lot. If very particular to match the quantity it would have been 3 lots and 2 lots. That is 3:2 ratio. No one will invest 45 lakh to 50 laks in such a indefinite market. This is only to attract the new traders to their fold

As you are a role model for many youngsters, plz do not post video like this for just views. Hardly telling just looking charts we cant do pair trading. Esspecially your example Hcl and TechM is completely wrong. Since both of them business model is different but it could be fall under IT sector since both of them are doing some similer software development services. TechM is doing more embedded softwares where as hcl is doing micro to macro level software development and testing services. Plz understand the stock business. As of my view to perform pair trading, we need to look standard deviation, zscore, ratio,spread,etc..then only this math will work.
