James! savior. thanks for this video. only watched it a half dozen times, finally step by step. I missed the company lookup to accounts and could not figure where I went wrong (default lookup throws error every time... then - you clearly outlined it! only one easy fix out of.... oh just starting off in CRM!!!

+C2 Software , there was one step that i had missed and found it on the regular Microsoft page... seems obvious after the fact, but in order to import contacts, you need to import the list of Accounts. I kept getting a look up error on the account name as i had no accounts listed... so in an example where you are importing brand new contacts with no accounts, the only work around was to first import a clean list of accounts, then import the contacts tied to the account. i could not get it to work any other way...

Hello and thank you for the helpful video! I also have a question. I am trying to eport data and I'm not sure how I can include the data I need. I have clients in my database that work for different companies. Now, I would like to export an Excel sheet with the client's information, but this sheet should also include the state that the company they work for is located in. Any advice?

Hi 19Kathi92 Thanks for the lovely comment, I'm glad that you find our tutorial videos helpful. To answer your question (please correct me if I miss read) you can select columns to export by heading to the View section such as My Open Leads and highlight the records your wan to export - click on the ellipsis in the menu section and click on the Export to Excel right hand arrow that will open more options, then click on the Dynamic Worksheet option. In this new window "Edit Columns" you can "add columns" that you would like to export e.g. Company Name, Address, contacts etc. Please feel free to PM me if you have any further questions. What about importing to multiple entities that are related from 1 file etc.... e.g. into contact, opportunity and activity

Thanks for your comment, to achieve this you would need to use the same file (or adjusted version) to import 3 times. If you have relationships between these entity types then create 3 different versions of the file e.g. Contacts.csv, accounts.csv and opportunity.csv. Then Zip these together and upload the ZIP file to the import. You can then import 3 entities at once and CRM will handle any relationships between the entities. Hope this helps.
