I am using a jig you can find them on amazon, that is where i got mine. I have another video on how to do a double cows hitch kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpanmGOjna-KqLM and you do hook up both ends of the collar. Hope this helps

How much cord would I need if my dogs neck measures 20”?
@coloradocords4paws5502 жыл бұрын
you will need about 20 feet of cord I f you are new at paracord weaving I would as 6 inches more to the cord for the double cows hitch
@ZippedUpKitz3 жыл бұрын
Something you can do if you don’t have a lacing needle / fids is to melt the ends of your cord and turn them into "needles/fids" … intend to do that on pretty much every project I do despite having both lacing needles and fids… having the ends of the cords melted and shaped like needles makes it much easier to get the cord into some really tight spots…

Hi! What do you call that equipment you use to hold the paracord in place? Thanks! Love this!
@coloradocords4paws5504 жыл бұрын
Kesi Lopez It’s called a jig and you can find them on Amazon at a reasonable price. The one that I’m using in this video is metal but there are wood ones that you can get at Planet Paracord

@@coloradocords4paws550 How much cord do you need for the weave? For example my dogs neck measures 9 inches. So how much cord do I need for the design part? I know I need 10.28 inches for the core but what would I need for the outside part? I have made a few bracelets and collars and I feel like I always have to add more cord and I don’t like doing that as it tends to make that spot weaker and then the overall look isn’t as nice.

did you repeat the same right side at around 13.30minutes? why do it twice on the right? 😊

My dogs neck measures 19 inches not sure how much cord I need
@coloradocords4paws5504 жыл бұрын
Hi I believe I can help you so when you are using Paracord the rule of thumb is that for every inch of whatever you’re making whether it’s a collar or a bracelet you will use a foot of cord to every inch. Now also for every 7 inches of your collar you have to actually add on an extra inch when you are measuring it out so you have 19 inches you’re going to want to add on about 2 1/2 inches more to the collar. I would go with 22 1/2 feet should work. And you’ll need that for each color.
@randistrunk21164 жыл бұрын
That helps so much thank you for the response

So for the 4 strand core I would use 221/2 feet
@coloradocords4paws5504 жыл бұрын
@@randistrunk2116 so on this video I used to separate colors and you only have to measure those two cords out I hope that makes sense. Each cord will be 22 1/2 feet long

Hi! I love your stuff. I'm not understanding something on measuring the Paracord. I understand the whole add 2" every 7 (not sure why though). Then 1' of Paracord for every inch. Does that include enough for the core too? If so, your second color would be a different length, right? What am I missing?
@coloradocords4paws5503 жыл бұрын
you add 1 inch for every 7 inches of your dogs neck because paracord collars are thick and it will make the inside of the collar smaller. As for the core of the collar, you can add more inches to that cord but yes they will be a different size. I have always used 1 foot per inch but it will not hurt if you a more to the core cord. I hope this helps,

Not exactly sure how to do the sizes
@coloradocords4paws5504 жыл бұрын
OK, for every 7 inches of your dogs neck you want to add 1 more inch. So, if your dogs next is 14 inches you would add another 2 inches, you would measure from end of buckle to top buckle and you would want that to be 16 inches. Now if your dogs neck is say 16 inches you would measure another 2 1/4 inch more I hope this helps
