Is there a good/bad time to do a soil sample? For example, should I wait till Spring, right ahead of planting time to do one?
@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors10 ай бұрын
I usually of it same time each year now would be a good time when soil isn’t to wet that way you have time you add like Before spring green up and planting

does the imox need a surfactant?
@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors10 ай бұрын
Some people say they use one with it but I never have and it works great. So I can’t really say anything about that.

@@Whitetailobsessionoutdoorscan you apply straight humic acid to it ?
@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors10 ай бұрын
They make granular humic acid that can be just broadcasted on the soil. Liquid humic acid I know they make some that can be sprayed directly on to plants but I’m not familiar with that kind. I use the liquid humic from domain and we just spray it directly onto the soil

Why waste money on liquid Fertilizer when you can just run a pasture renovation tool over the clover make spike holes that allow the granular Fertilizer to be better absorbed. Mowing has noting to do with Nitrogen production, don't mow unless you have to use pursuit, Immox, and Clethedom to control weeds. Mowing actually hurts your chances of getting high quality big bucks and does nothing for the Clover.

Good post. I'm new to hunting, and at this point, I'm primarily hunting public lands/WMAs. How would you approach setting up food plots in these areas?
@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors9 ай бұрын
You can put food plots on public land!
@brushcrawler86125 ай бұрын
It's illegal in Michigan on public land. Check your local laws Spreading pelletized fertilizer into early successional habitat near a favorite stand may be an option. Raking leaves and other debris in a clearing may stimulate some growth too

I was advised 4-6 ounces of IMOX per acre? That's significantly less than the 7-9 ounces that you recommend?
@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors8 ай бұрын
Don’t know. I used 7-9 all the time never had a issue

A surfactant reduces the amount of Immox needed, Immox will not kill sedges for sedges you need Pusit, 24d B, and round up will not kill sedges either. Sedges are the worst weeds in clover. Clover will produce nitrogen mowed or unmoved the Bacteria produce the Nitrogen, use a soybean Fertilizer like 6 24 24. On clover, the pot ash is not soil mobile in glandular Fertilizer, you have to use a pasture renovation tool to get the clover to absorb it. Or a subsioler run through the plot before applying the Fertilizer.
