@@SimplyCeliacraftingdiary I usually seal my paintings with acrylic polymer varnish, you can purchase it from Golden or Liquitex. Either is fine. Have fun, it will make for a great present.

Try using a ruler, I use a ruler strictly for paintings, and u can use a toothpick up against the ruler for the finest lines

My brother is coming from Texas to visit next week and I promised him a mermaid caught in a net painting, I have been trying to fit the boat in without taking away the message of the mermaid.... Hello Michelle, you are the one who teach me so much through your painting! Love love love! One question if I may? I have a hard time with the bristle brush that makes marks and scratch the paint….so I always have to do another coat! Do you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance! Best regards!

Hi Bella, I'm delighted that you're enjoying painting with me. Yes, the bristle brush will make marks and most of the time I usually do a 2nd coat. I like the bristle brushes because they move the paint easily and I find I have more control with them. Soft brushes tend to leave thick clumpy spots, which I don't like, so I'd rather do multiple thin layers than a thick bumpy layer. I hope this makes sense. Have fun painting!

I use a chalk because it's easier for the viewer to see and it's easy to erase. You can use any utensil you like. Have fun!

The poles are called mast's and there aren't any ropes on a sailboat. They are called lines. I hope this helps? :)
