Thank you Gina! I have been gifted a Native flute. My heritage is Cherokee. I'm learning more about my roots. I've always wanted a Native flute and at one of our recent church services one of the ladies came up to me and said she had been carrying this flute for over 22 years waiting for God to show her who it belonged to and He told her it was mine. She said the Lord will show you how to play it. I was blown away. I was in tears. I'm looking forward to learning how to play it.

I love my Red Tail Hawk in "G" I got from High Spirits. As flute playing, the Lakota believe keeping your finger over the one hole is a spiritual belief, keeping the finger on it represents our place in the universe. The tree it is made from is Mother Earth and by playing it, it can be a kind of prayer or to help win the heart of the woman you wish to make your wife. As most people that play one probably would agree, that the songs come from within, from the heart. Happy, sad, lonely or to bring happiness and comfort to yourself or others. I believe that all that energy from the song and from the heart goes out in to the Universe. What it becomes I do not know, but I know the Great Sprite hears it. So I can only believe that all songs are prayers...........

However, theres no real tutorials online or any content of notes for these kinds of flutes (at least i haven't found any). Would highly appriciate more videos from this series, with tutorials from famous songs, or possibly links to tutorials for famous songs. NOTE; I have never played a flute in my life until now. For an example Prison Song ( Mask off ) Would be a great song with this, or something popular that everyone can recognize when playing! Anyways love your channel, Stay golden :)

Wow, the scale is built into the instrument. I was not expecting that at all. I was wanting to learn to play the flute but terrified about not being able to figure out which notes to play (I grew up playing a piano and trombone, but was never good at making up notes for ad-lip jazz/swing solos, so I was carrying over that experience onto these flutes, here). It was such a relief when I saw you play the notes in the beginning! I think I'd like the bass flute. As a taller female (5'9" or 5'10", my fingers can stretch a little longer, so I'm sure it'd be okay).

Hi Gina - Another advantage of playing the Native American flute is that, unlike other woodwind instruments, it requires no embouchure to play it. I have a 6 holed flute and I keep doing things like lifting my index and middle finger on my right hand, or both of my middle fingers - basically playing notes that aren't listed as "notes".
