I believe...the power to adapt and change is within every single one of us. It is stiffled mainly by our own minds. I changed my life from living with an alcoholic husband to obtaining 3 college degrees & purchasing my own home. And I did it just like you said..."have a plan". I took a sheet of notebook paper out the morning after a very rough night with the alcoholic...and I wrote out...my plan....what it was I wanted & needed to do with my life...to finally have peace and freedom. And it took years of determination and sweat and tears. But 4 years....after that morning at the kitchen table with that piece of notebook paper....I had arrived at my goal. I don't dwell...with sadness or anger..on those rough years with the ex husband...actually I am thankful for them....bc ...those years happened to prepare me for the rest of my life.. I am such a strong person now. I smile constantly and my life is really really good. And I still have that paper❤...with each goal having a line through it as I achieved it😊 Excellent video Sandra!!

@@lifewithsandrahart I tell you Sandra, my 27 yr old son just said to me last week..."Mom if your story isn't a story of preservation, perseverance and determination for a woman to come out of a bad spot and redevelop herself, I don't know what is. You should really write a book". I was caught off guard by his statement but very flattered at the same time. He was a just boy, but he watched me change our lives. Any ladies or gentlemen out there that feel trapped in a situation.....believe me....you can only change yourself. You can not change anyone else....ever. Sandra's guide here is exactly what I did....and it changed the whole trajectory of my life.

We could never understand life. Why somethings happened to others that don’t happen to the next person. The loss of the daughter is probably the worst thing that can happen to a mother. The loss of any child is heartbreaking. Even though we can’t see it there is a reason behind everything. We don’t have the answers why but maybe someday in the future you will. I am so sorry and my heart goes out to you. I can’t imagine the amount of pain you’re going through right now.❤️

Terri, how exciting! I can remember when I retired from full-time work and started coming down to Florida for three or four months out of the year. Sandra, I can’t imagine the pain and setbacks you’ve lived through, and the strength you’ve had to overcome them. I’m not brave enough just yet. If I had projected what I wanted to do in five months last May it never would have occurred to me that I’d lose my healthy husband to COVID. I appreciate your words of wisdom. At 70 it’s difficult to envision going forward. You’re so sure it’s possible, then maybe it is.

Jacqui, I am so sorry to hear that you lost your husband because of Covid. That was the greatest fear that we all were facing. I also lost my cousin who was much younger than I am to Covid. Right now you’re in the grieving process and it will come in stages. It’s only normal. Now you feel it’s difficult to move forward. You can and will do it, but it will take emotional baby steps and time for you to heal and move on. But you will. That is the natural process of grieving a great loss. This is another chapter for you. It will be different, but can also build on who you are and will become as you get stronger. I will be thinking of you.❤️

The best thing I’ve ever done to help myself was to read the Bible. I’m 56 and read it two years ago and I will spend the rest of my life rereading it. I used to always gravitate to self help books because I lacked inspiration as to how to guide myself. It is the ultimate self help book given to us by our Father in heaven and I wish I had the sense to read it sooner because it has all the wisdom we can ever need. The nature of man never changes so it is as helpful today as it was when it was written. Definitely having a version in up to date language helped! Thank you for sharing your wisdom Sandra.

Dear Sandra thank you for this video this video is one that I’m gonna watch over and over again , this morning I had an important call that I dreaded to deal with and my anxiety was going through the roof that I thought I was going to have a panic attack and then I thought “ what would Sandra do? “ and it helps Cus I thought Sandra would deal with it and get it done ! Aya, is right. You have to sit down and actually think what makes you happy and what you enjoy doing. Usually that will give you the answer what you know your best at doing. That is your starting point. If you’re good at being a mother. If you have a great organizational skills. If you love nature or if you have a skill like drawing, sewing or painting. Just sit down and think what is it you do that makes you the happiest?❤️
