Thank You!!! I was beginning to think that I was a complete failure in tying this knot! I had tried 4 other videos and the person would speak slowly about the holidays, their dog, favorite food, then when it came to the actual knot, they would speak much quicker and cover what they were tying with their hands. While they pulled the two ends taut, they slowed their speaking down to show off what a quick and easy knot they had tied while I had tied a knot that looked nothing like the one they were showing and it would sadly fall apart! As my frustration grew I was ready to give up when I noticed 2 bright, colorful ropes pictured in a video. 1 orange and 1 blue~ your fabulous video in which you slowly and clearly explained each step alowing me to tie this knot on my first attempt!! God Bless you! You saved my sanity!!

Would love to see how to do this while manipulating two pieces of suspended cord, rather than laying flat on a surface. The question is with regards to holding the lines, while you work the knot. That's usually the part people forget to teach.

Your explanations are so clear and easy-to-understand, I never thought I’d the dexterity to tie knots like these myself. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for posting this and making so easy to fall what you're doing... My mom and sister are going to the beach tomorrow and the string on my sister's Kite was tangled and broken. I have spent the last hour untangling and mending it. This video was a huge help. So again, I say thank you for the vid! :-)

A carrak bend can also be used at the top of a pole supported by 4 guy roaps. The pole goes through the hole in the middle.

That's a good idea! I will remember that one. It's an awesome bend actually - extremely secure and jam proof, in its collapsed form.

are you thinking of a jury knot? Because thats quite different

I dont know what a jury knot is.

The two tails must be touching for this knot to be secure. So when tightening the knot you must hold the tails together as you pull either side.

Would this be strong enough to extend a ropeswing rope to hold the weight of adults?

Charlie Shelton carricks according to abok doesn’t assure against unraveling when working with it under non constant load. The sheet bend or the double sheet bend may be better. This guy does one on that as well too.

Ok but the million dollar question is what is it ?it might be a suprise to you and to many many people too and after many years of knot tying it become clear what it was it is in fact two interwoven half hitches be it two clockwise or two anti clockwise half hitches.

When you tie any knot say fore instance an overhand knot notice that the working end always comes out on top this is the same with any knot but your working end are the ones underneath so you are not tying this properly

"There are also two ways the ends can emerge from the knot: diagonally opposed or from the same side....The form with the ends emerging diagonally opposed is considered more secure." --according to Geoffrey Budworth, The Complete Book of Knots (London: Octopus, 1997), p. 43

God loves you and he wants to save everyone, but in order for him to do that, you need to repent and be baptized. Also share his gospel with everyone you come in to contact with and keep his commandments 🙏🏾😘
