Hi, Thanks for the content. Is the custodian like an admin? or the user under investigation? this confuses me
@peterrisingM3655 ай бұрын
It’s a pleasure. Thanks for the kind comment. The custodian is the user under investigation.

Great video Peter. Do you have any guide about how to search for data with a particular sensitivity label tag (to decrypt the data)? Microsoft doesnt highlight this is any documentation which is baffling!!
@peterrisingM3657 ай бұрын
Not something I'm instantly aware of no. You can use eDiscovery to search based on retention label, or sensitive data, but not labelled content.

Hi Peter, When the custodian or user is on hold what will happen to the user? Does this mean all of custodians/users data that has been searched by the case they cannot delete or update it?
@peterrisingM365 Жыл бұрын
Hi, so the content is preserved. If the user attempts to update, or delete - from their perspective they will be able to achieve this. The held content is preserved elsewhere in a hold library.

Hi Peter, I was woundering if you had a tutorial on how to import PST file (Non O365 file) in a eDiscovery case case
@peterrisingM36511 күн бұрын
Not specifically no, but it should be fairly straightforward to do this. Is it something you have tried and had issues with?
@rogermix10111 күн бұрын
@@peterrisingM365 Yes tried it but no succes as you say it should be strait foward but does not seem to work. Maybe I'm not geting somthing

Nicely done; love your content. The company I work for started a project to enable Purview and its many data governance features, so your video helps a lot. Quick question, based on your video and doc I've read, can eDiscovery work with on-premise files?
@peterrisingM365 Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. Non office 365 data can be uploaded. There are some limitations in that you have to associate with a custodian - so it is not perfect, and you need to use AZCopy. You can learn more here - learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/ediscovery-load-non-office-365-data-into-a-review-set?view=o365-worldwide and I also cover it in my latest eDiscovery video here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIjMcpWBeZd6nLc

Nice. Can i upload pst or files to case to be searched at Microsoft ediscovery?

You know, I'm not certain. I see no reason why not, but I would have to test to be sure.

Im able to add sharepoint sites, but how does one limit a collection to a specific subfolder of a site?
@peterrisingM3654 ай бұрын
When adding the data source, just paste the URL for the subfolder and I believe that should work. I've just tried adding on as a non custodial data source and it seems to let me. Give it a whirl.

I'm not seeing the "Data Sources" tab on my end... why?
@peterrisingM3658 ай бұрын
Usually because you have not been added to the eDiscovery Administrator or Manager role
@markremollino5873 ай бұрын
When you add new collection, you must add the names of the people you are investigating (9:25). The creator is doing an eDiscovery on himself. You don't want to do that. I was following along not really listening. They should call the custodians "investigatees"
@peterrisingM3653 ай бұрын
This is just a demo - you would never add yourself as a custodian as you would never be in that position of conducting an investigation on yourself. If that is not clear then I apologise.
