I’m so glad I watched this. So, I learned this lesson on online class today but the thing is I don’t understand what’s going on. The teacher is a Japanese that can’t speak English. Someone’s in the class asked what’s the meaning of なければなりません and why’s the sentence like that, etc. The teacher nicely explained it but in Japanese. And I still don’t understand. So thank you for the great explanation 🙇🏻‍♀️ I understand now. But I’m really curious on why the the language is so twisted that you need to say something negative + negative but the meaning was actually positive. For example the sentence : (Yasai o tabena kereba narimasen.) I understand that this kind of sentence rarely use and only use if want to be formal. But even if I want to be formal can I just said “yasai o tebete kudasai” is the meaning or feeling is the same or it’s difference? And again, thanks for your hardwork!

I think the formal is more assertive. Using Verbてください is saying “please eat your vegetables” while using Verbなければなりません is saying “you must eat your vegetables”. Hope that helps!

Hello, Ma'am! I have a doubt. Does なくします belong to the first or third group. Because in Vない form なくします changes to なくさない. Or will it become なくしない as it ends with します?

You have to look at jisho kei when grouping verbs, not masu kei. So it's group (1).

Konnichiwa sensei , I face a problem in lesson 17. that is in in group 1 there is kayrimasu and torimasu . those are transferred into kayra nai , tora nai. but i found karimasu and orimasu . transfer into kari nai , ori nai..... in group 1 and 2 there both are ending by i . but there placement is different It confused me. when it comes example. how should I transferred. waiting for your answer .. aregato gojaimasu .mata ne
