I like how he starts the video by talking about respect. Glad to see there's hope within my generation after all! Joking aside, maybe it's best to mention that if people are going to try this stuff, a good stretch is recommended first. Cool video though!

i want to join a karata class but i dont want to compete in matches im scared im gonna get hurt what do i do
@HyperMartialArtsTV9 жыл бұрын
Attentivefawn 15 Good question. We have a few responses to that question. First of all, the perception of getting injured in a martial arts class or competition isn't fair -- you are far more likely to get hurt playing football, soccer, hockey and many other sports. Martial Arts focuses on control and self-discipline. In competition the goal isn't to hurt your opponent - it's to score points. Especially for beginners, most tournaments have very strict rules about how much contact you're allowed to make in your match. And final point - when you take martial arts, that doesn't mean you have to compete. Most people who take martial arts do not go to competitions. However those who are athletes and are looking to challenge themselves, live for competition. We love martial arts athletes. We think they're the greatest athletes in the world. Give martial arts a try! Facing your fears is the bravest thing you can do.

People probably don't use their karate skills in real combat cause they don't think to. Or they're just too used to facing their classmates and don't know their opponent's moves. What people, who take self defence classes in general, should do is imagine every possible situation where they'd need there skills and think of every way it could go down. Try to be prepared for anything. This coming from the son of a police officer
@ganggang-cb2fx10 жыл бұрын
I can see where your coming from but..... If people knew their karate skills properly it can be used in real combat because it ends up becoming a natural movement to them. Coming from the daughter of a Martial Artist.

Hodor 1234 i think thats what i was trying to say?!?!?!
@ganggang-cb2fx10 жыл бұрын
Who said they couldn't?! I certainly didn't.. My father has his black belts in Shotokhan. In saying that you are wrong about other styles!! Thats quite offensive to say they miss a lot or to say they are to soft. The '"softest" of martial art styles can kill! To take a basic move from any style and practice practice till its lethal.
@petrihaikio700210 жыл бұрын
Waimarie Marr exactly. even if the technique itself will not be obvious, it will still be karate...if you punch an opponent, most likely the punch will begin at the feet, go through the hips, shoulders, arm and in the end, that little twist of the fist. your fighting stance will almost certainly be karate as well, left foot front, right foot back....but who is to say it is karate?, almost everyone will adopt the same stance. If you kick, it will most likely be a low kick, again...it will look much like a regular kick, except it has tons of more power that the opponent will feel, and you will most likely strike at weak points just above the knee in the inside or outside thigh muscles. point is, even if "karate" is being used, not all of it will be obvious...you will not see a tobi yoko geri (the iconic karate jump kick) or a spinning, backwards roundhousekick...those kicks are powerfull, but they are not needed in a streetfight against untrained people...you will however need them against trained opponents who know how to block your strikes and lowkicks...thats when the un-orthodox techniques come out, you will use them to suprise a trained opponent. but on the street...lowkick + punches + basic blocks will do the trick. but it will not look like the karate you see in a dojo or in competitions. this coming from a kyokushin karateka. Osu.
@agelesskarate10 жыл бұрын
If your trained right in Karate and your trained well. Karate will work. Sometimes, Karate gets a bad rep because they think its for kids. But its relevant for all ages. But punching and kicking is any form of self defenses will work. If your trained well and they are trained in harsh conditions they can grown into great martial artist. Any martial art is really effective, but its co dependent on the teacher and especially how dedicated the student is.

Right? This doesn't work for women because when women fight they attack from behind, grab hair, rip earrings, and bite etc. You try blocking a b!tch when she grab your ponytail from behind and sink her teeth into your back. I'd rather take a punch to the gut over losing a chunk of flesh and digging fake nails out of my hair.
