I first learned negative painting from Linda's tutorials. I was always afraid of trying it and didn't really like the idea of it. But one morning, i got up and immediately painted one, probably the best thing I've painted since i began watercolor in 2019. I LOVE it and very happy to have access to this video; thank you! I will cast to my tv from my phone😊

Linda Kemp is a very good teacher! I love the negative concept. And using wet paint out of the tube onto wet paper. I’m an intuitive oil painter and Linda’s techniques make me feel more “at home” with watercolors.

Tried this technique yesterday and made quite a mess. Did it again today and I kinda like many parts of it. Maybe the third time is a charm. Maybe not but it's so much fun! I believe I prefer painting abstracts and didn't know it until now. Thank you!

Very awesome! Thanks for sharing this. PS, Holbein Royal Blue is not a Phthalo blue. Its an Indanthrone Pigment. Indanthrone blue PB60 is very different from Phthalocyanine blues, ((phthalo)) that range from PB15. to PB16.
