Thank you for the great video. Just a quick mention, converting from Mbps (mega bit per second) to Kbps (kilo bit per second), it should time 1024 not 1000, so it should be 8196 instead of 8000.

Chris, some questions about OBS. I am currently a full time minister. A former Broadcast Engineer. Working with a small church limited resources. As a result I am the one man media department as well. So I’m not necessarily interested in Live stream as I am recording video for You Tube or some other platform. I use a Mac. I know get to your questions. Ok. I make Keynote charts for all my lessons. I don’t want typical videos of me just talking and deer in headlights look. I don’t want on the camera myself as much as I want a computer feed of my advancing keynote charts, fully in sync. Can I do that with one computer with OBS? Or, would I use two computers? If so what would be a typical work flow to set that up? I can even host these on my own in house Web Browser. Any help ideas appreciated. - macmikeal(at)mac(dot)com

I am a first time user of OBS, teaching online with a webcam for drawing and painting demos ( not a traditional forward facing camera) and need to use google meet for the classroom. Due to this Corona Virus Lockdown , I am trying to bring in my Pastor, Worship leader and prayer leader from 3 different locations with their own PCs or smartphones so that they can stream from their house and i need to use them as source in my OBS and broadcast out to You tube/Facebook-Page as one continuous stream with minimal disruption. I need help! I've been using the Synthesia software since Spring on my 2016 model 16 gig RAM laptop, was running smooth with the 1080 HD screen size screen shot recording on OBS Studio . Last week I bought a computer (64gig Ram, Super 2070 RTX Graphix card) thats 20 times more powerful than my laptop with 4K specs BENQ monitor, but when I press play on Synthesia the title screen at the start is smooth 60 fps but the falling colored notes are a slightly clunky/jittery in & out of 30 to 60 fps. Its not the monitor or computer as its the only program not running as smooth as the 20 times less powerful 2016 model laptop... I see youtubers Synthesia 4K footage & I want the same smooth results, I may even have a more powerful system than theirs which is even more frustrating. The Synthesia website has no support & their forum has errors signing me on & no way to contact the administrator (CYRPTIC) I also tried their Video Creator which SURIOUSLY NEEDS updating as its a 2017 32 bit model, I've been using 64bit since 2016 for gods sake!!!! Their is no 64bit model. The Rendered files are also clunky on 4K. Any help would be much apreciated! Information & help on Synthesia is Cyrptic at best Any help would be much appreciated

I've been using the OBS software since Australia began it's corona virus lock down. I've gone through over 260 VHS tapes converting many to digital successfully until I ran into a dozen that were in NTSC format. Both of my VCR's will play back these NTSC tapes with no problem on my Samsung digital TV. The issue lies with the OBS software. I'm using an August VGB 300 AV to USB convertor and the PAL tapes work well. When I use the NTSC tapes with the OBS software: the sound is good but the picture is in black and white and flickering. I've tried using the USB 3.0 port, changing the settings from 10 to 60 FPS and everything in between. The NTSC 29.97 fps rate is optimal but doesn't solve the problem. I've tried mp4 and mkw as output options with no improvement. Any ideas? I'd appreciate any help.

I hope you can help me. Because I made a huge mistake. And I hope if there is any way to correct it. I wanted to record something using 2 cams. I made one screen small and one big. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to use one cam instead of 2. The mistake I made was that I made the recording camera window larger. and removed the other camera. BUT I DID SO ONLY IN THE PREVIEW WINDOW. In other words my recorded file has only one tiny Cam window. Because I I never made it larger accept for in the preview window. However this recording is still on my screen. Is there a way to still turn it into a mp4 file. By rendering? instead of live recording. What might still save the video?

Game Capture depends on hardware accelerated video creation. My best guess about game capture not working as for now, is This: If it’s not a Direct 3D or OpenGL game (I dien’t check on the Vulcan API yet) but rather Direct Draw or another non-accelerated method of the game to draw its image, it will probably not work at all as a game capture source. Since I know, that Stardew Valley is actually a Direct 3D game, I think, if it does not work, you’re dealing with a broken Direct 3D implementation, maybe something halfway Directdraw, that’s only running with the Direct 3D API, while not being compatible to the graphics card for a certain display mode. Window capture is a good enough workaround for game capture issues, but don’t forget: Windows capture tends to consume more cpu time, which can be a problem.

Help ! please I am very new to OBS and wanted to screen record using 1920 x 1080 resolution I can get the recording to work, but the actual window comes out at about half the required size, when I load it into my video editing program. Puzzled, I did some research. My monitor is set to 1280 x 1024 which is showing as the recommended setting (it's not a new monitor) How do I get the recording to fill my screen at 1080 please ? I don't know enough of the technical details, but I am happy that 1920 x 1080 is the size I need, or at least want :) thank you

so following along step by step, the profile box was greyed out. That's because it wont let you make a profile when you are streaming, or have an active window such as the camera running. I ended those problems and my profile menu became accessible. Thought I'd throw that trouble shoot in there. Incase someone else has this problem following along.

Here's a style tip: don't use plural addresses for your audience. Usually there is only 1 viewer, so use singular addresses: not 'hi everyone' because there's no 'everyone', just 'hi, glad you could join me'. Far more professional and more intimate and friendly.

However, i've found when I add a video as a backdrop into the Live performance embedded with my backing tracks, it all goes out of sync in the live, but not my end. Any suggestions how I can stop the sync problem. When I use just backing tracks to sing along to it's fine and no problems. Is there something I need to learn with video's catching up when I sing.
