Oliver Prehn gives hope. I sometimes listen to these lessons even without intending to learn...but just listening to him. I've learnt to be patient with myself and that nothing is impossible . Life is about breaking goals into small achievable steps one at a time.!!

Hello, Mr. Oliver, you have changed my life! I have been studying your lessons for over a year, and during this time, you changed my philosophy of music, I learned to enjoy it. Your talent for presenting such complex things is so simply - briliant. I'm afraid to imagine how many years I would spend to come to such things myself, if of course I could. After some time, I return to the old lessons and every time I understand something new, how deep they are! Hats off, greetings from Russia! Thank you!!

Your methodology is brilliant ! thank you for sharing ...you are a master teacher .... after 30 years of taking frustrating complicated and unrealistic lessons off and on from “ great jazz pianists” in my city (Vancouver) I have finally found your system which makes it all click ... your work is outstanding .. to be able to make things simple for others to understand and accessible to master is a great gift! donation en route !

Oliver, you have given a lot of thought to this lesson plan and the results are quite amazing. In about 30 minutes, you take a beginning jazzer pianist from Improv 101 to 201 to 301 to 401. Please take a bow, Mein Herr! (and danke schön!)

Hello, Oliver. I am Spanish and I do not understand English (a bit of the writing but nothing of the spoken) but still I see your videos that I find excellent. I understand them because they are subtitled in Spanish. Thanks for that detail. I am not very advanced in the piano although I have been practicing for some years. I know, rather something of guitar although autodidact and by ear. Now I'm studying some harmony. I'm stuck in the modes and I'm dedicated to watching tutorial videos of which yours are "Number One" in my personal ranking. Thanks for your lessons and your dedication. Greetings from Gerardo. Oh, and thanks to the Google translator that without your help I could not send you the message in English, so I avoid you having to do it yourself. Thanks again and goodbye. I donated you some turkeys ...

This is the greatest lesson I've ever learned on how to improvise jazz on piano, it has really changed the way I think about improvisation. The problem is that most teachers teach chord/scale theory, nothing about understanding simple phrasing. Thanks.

It took me about five minutes to get the phrase down; this tells me I've been making progress. But the idea of shuffling the motifs around is brilliant and unlocks a lot of fun at my keyboard. I will be working on this daily for a while. Wonderful stuff.

Absolutely LOVE this tutorial! Nobody that I have seen on KZbin teaches this topic the way that you do, Oliver. This lesson gives me a clear idea how to construct a Jazz solo, which is exactly what I was looking for. It's so frustrating to watch some videos that try to teach this subject but leave me none the wiser, except for knowing which scales to use. The fact that you do all of this for voluntary donations only is so generous. Small donation on the way. Thanks so much Oliver. Hope you and your loved ones stay safe and well in this crazy time! Warm regards from London.

Greetings
