Appreciate your viewership! Your film is getting oversaturated when developing, likely because you are in the rinse process far too long... Other contributing factors to this would be light-prints and exposure longer than necessary (rate of exposure on LetraLite unit is 20 seconds). The KEY to wash development is pressure. The greater the wash pressure, the quicker your film will dissolve (wash), and the better resolution will be. Start in close to the sheet, 2"- 3" and stay there using uniform and/or mechanical strokes. Your nozzle should keep this close until you see the white of the wash-board at the end of your wash; you should not be further than 4"- 5" from the film. Suggestions: A. if you have detailed images, wash smaller sheet or image sizes, so your development is concentrated on a smaller area - minimizing the possible oversaturation to the film. B. use HOT water - it will help the development of the film We commonly find people tend to wash erratically and too far from the surface of the film.

Love the mug. Is it safe to drink from or would you need to add some sort of glaze on top of the paint?
@Sandcarving3 жыл бұрын
Hello Mike, Thank you for watching. Yes, the product is safe to drink from. Mural artist paints drys completely hard, waterproof, and virtually indestructible. We do suggest hand washing anything painted; the material may not "last" in the heat cycle of the dishwasher. Have a look at our "Learn Sandcarving" playlist. We do cover painting, materials and techniques.

Is the mug dishwasher safe when painted, or will it wash and fade?
@Sandcarving4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Jay... the mural artiest paints we use are waterproof; they will not fade or wash off. However, anything painted should be considered hand-wash only. Generally, the only reason is the dishwasher's heat could begin to crack the paint, especially at the edges, and moisture can then leach behind the paint. It is just best to say, anything painted should be hand-wash only.... Again, thanks for watching!

I always second guess which side to print on.. which side goes up or down in my exposure unit...(film and print)... Can never find the video that stats put the " " side up or print on the " " side. set face up/down on the " " side in the exposure unit...
@Sandcarving3 жыл бұрын
The easiest way to remember is that everything happens to the emulsion side of the print film and the resist side. Print film: glossy/slick on one side - that is, the non-treated side Resist film: glossy/slick side is the backing film, non-treated side So if you print on the DULL side of the print film and lay that to print to the DULL side of the resist film, you have the correct combination! Thanks for watching!

What kind of paint did you use on the mug? Do you need any specific kind of mug ?
@Sandcarving4 жыл бұрын
Hello Melissa, We started with the Montana Effect metallic red (Montana Paints) and then hit it a few times with the Montana Glitter for effect. They really do look super. ANY ceramic mug will work!

@Sandcarving4 жыл бұрын
Hello Justin, the largest size mask that we can produce for you as a single stencil would be up to a 42" x 50".
