Learn Spanish Vocabulary: Describe the flavor of food and your cooking!

Do you want to improve your Spanish communication? Start building your vocabulary with words that native Spanish speakers use in real-life contexts! Your words are the bricks of your Spanish wall: BUILD THE WALL! The more Spanish words you add, the stronger your Spanish gets. In this lesson I will teach you how to talk about your food using a wide array of words. And you will learn to use the correct Spanish verbs with your foodie words. You will learn if something "es bueno" or "está bueno". You will learn the different ways to say something is good, to express when something is overcooked, greasy, dry, juicy, spicy, sweet, rotten, or cooked to perfection. You will learn many Spanish adjectives and words that describe the taste of a food. Even more, you will learn that some words that are used to describe Spanish foods are also used to describe people. For example, do you know what it means to say someone is salty in Spanish? Oh, you don’t know! Good! Because this is a great reason to watch this lesson and find out if you are salty or not. This video not only will teach you more words, this video will also show you to use them in context. You will learn some good phrases that will come in handy when you are conversing with your Spanish friends. I will also test you at the end of the lesson to check that you paid attention, and if you did not, you will get a tache. Watch my video and learn many words that are currently used in Spanish.

“It is good” in Spanish:
Está sabroso, está delicioso, está exquisito, está bueno, está rico, esta riquísimo.
When do you use the verbs ser & estar?
Remember that at the moment you are eating you use “está”. When you want to express the nature of a food, you use the verb ser, “es”.
Saying panza llena, corazón contento, happy belly, happy heart means that you have eaten and you are happy, literally your belly is full so your heart is happy :)
It is not that good in Spanish: "No está tan bueno".

I like it too. There's a study which shows that most effective way to learn (at least from videos) is to hear the studied language and have subtitles in the same language. KZbin is good platform for that for Spanish, because auto-captioning works really well (unlike for English, which mostly is turned into gibberish).

Ana thank you for your videos! They are so helpful. It is very helpful that you speak Spanish mixed with English. It allows us to hear enough in our own language to make sense of what you're saying in Spanish. It also gives us practice listening to understand in Spanish. The reason i like this channel, is because, the speed at which she is speaking is very slow and easy to understand. Otherwise, , If i speed up the Video to 1.5x, thats how the native Spanish people SPeaks. Sooo Fast. However, the way she speaks slowly, makes us understand very well.

I teach Spanish to homeschool students and I am also tutoring many students who are trying to learn virtually or are in a hybrid plan (ie part face: face, part virtual) due to Covid concerns. Whenever I have to rush a lesson or I would like students to watch a fun video to supplement their learning, I will give them the option of watching one of your videos or Señor Jordan's. Both are good and since kids are struggling with limited classroom time in our community due to the hybrid plan, this is another way to get them hearing Spanish. I have to admit, they prefer your videos to anyone else's because you are so cheerful. You are a breath of fresh air! I too love your videos! I have encouraged parents to subscribe to your channel so their teens can have access to all old and new videos. Thank you for continuing to make videos!!!
