Hey everyone, thanks for checking out the first episode of my learning sound design series! I'm still getting used to this whole voiceover thing, so sorry if I sound a little bit stiff at times. Let me know if there is anything you'd like to see done differently in future episodes. Much love

You don't sound stiff at all dude. You got a good narrative voice. Keep it up. Great informative channel. Looking forward to this series.

I don’t even care about learning the sound design. I just like watching you videos for the sound of your voice. No homo Jokes, this series kicks ass and takes names and were only one episode in. Sick content brah!

Narration was completely fine. Never sounded robotic or wooden, was at a great pace, clear and concise, good articulation.

I gotta say. Someone namedropped this channel in the Vital discord server and my life is CHANGED. I've never been this genuinely excited about a more educationally-inclined "program" in my LIFE. That $25 tier is lookin real nice rn. your work is incredible.

This video is really something else. A lot of information in here I’ve simply never come across before. The information is original and unique. I imagine this series will get you a whole heap of subscribers. I can tell you’ve put in a lot of work, everything from the branding to the animations and even the website design - it’s all super slick. I’m seriously impressed dude.

This is a great video for understanding the basics of sound! Your videos have helped me a lot, thanks for doing this) But I noticed a slight inaccuracy about the clipping of the sound, which is above 0dB. If you render the sound in mp3 or wav 16/24 bit format, the sound will indeed clipping. But if you render wav 32 bit, there will be no clipping at 0dB. This is because the dynamic range is much higher in this format, so there is a large headroom (coding features). In a 32 bit file where the audio exceeds 0dB you can simply turn down the volume, and there will be no loss of information or clipping. Another thing is when it comes to playback devices. As far as I know, there are devices that can playback audio above 0dB, but most devices cannot. This is where I don't really know much, I haven't looked deeply into the subject. So, of course, the final track should be limited to 0dB.
@jazensounds4533 жыл бұрын
Yeah wav floats can remember information that gets clipped, but I didn’t want to get into that stuff in this video. If you export a float that was clipping inside your daw, it will get normalized down to 0db outside your daw. Also, decibels are just a relative measurement, so that’s why you hear about measuring sounds at 70db or whatever, but in the context of your daw, 0db is the hard limit and anything you play over 0db on the master fader will always clip 100% of the time, no matter what speakers you listen on. Floating points allows you not to permanently lose the information that gets clipped, but it doesn’t change the fact that the file will still clip when played above 0db in your daw.
@maxspecter3 жыл бұрын
@@jazensounds453 Yes, that's right, for a beginner it's best to remember not to go beyond 0dB to avoid misunderstandings. I did not know about clipping inside DAW on the master, but heard in practice) I think it depends a lot on the sound processing in DAW and plugins.

This series is going to be super valuable. I can already tell. I wish I had video's this concise when I first started learning about music production and sound design. I would have most likely watched 4-6 long winded video's back then to learn the contents of this video. Are you planning to cover phase? And phase cancellation at some point in this series. Because its argubly the be and end all to alot of things in sound design and production. But regardless. Great Job on the video. Beyond professional presentation and straight to the point information. You finesse it.
@jazensounds4533 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Yeah eventually, but I can think of maybe 6 or 7 more topics worth learning before that point. Why does all this have to be so complicated 😅
@matthewsmith22983 жыл бұрын
@@jazensounds453 No problem. Yeah thats understandable. I've asked the same question many times. About many different things. But I guess there's no rush to cover one particular topic. They all have value. So whatever you do decide to cover. Its going to be useful to your viewers regardless. So yeah keep up the good work.
