Thanks for breaking down the serve motion especially step 5 keeping elbow still and rotating the shoulder axis. I think especially for beginners the challenging part is rotating the shoulder to get into the racquet drop and also the timing. Most beginners open their racquet too early. Thank you!!

I am experienced player and was watching this to recommend to a beginner I know, in actual fact I learnt loads myself and I have already watched your other videos but going back to basics was extremely helpful. Now for practice and grooving the motion. Thanks you are a great coach.

I'm a retired teacher and this is great instruction! It's said that the mark of a good teacher is the ability to take a complex subject and make it easy to understand. You just did! I've been playing tennis for many years and my serve has always been the weakest part of my game. I think this will help . If Stephanie keeps at it I think she can become a very good tennis player. She's an attentive student, a quick learner and seems like a nice young lady.

Good lesson and amazing student! She's doing so well for the first time. Also, I love how you have her use the hammer grip instead of a forehand grip to start and then moving her to the hammer grip much later. That's just awesome.

I'm interested that in your half-serve position you have the top of the racket almost parallel to the floor, whereas most videos recommend the racket pointing vertically up. Do you recommend that so as to exaggerate the drop phase, so beginners aren't tempted to go straight from the vertical racket into hitting the ball, with no drop phase in between? Or is there another reason?

Great video on the serve basics especially the racquet drop. I follow you on KZbin all the time. On another subject do you like Slivovitz ? I am friends with a lot of Serbian Americans and they would tell me that Slivo is Serbian “holy water “😂

Hi Milan. Do you do online coaching? I štarted watching your videos because of improving in tennis and you do it well. I Can find there every element what I need. But you know what is difference between when some one coatching you and teaching from videos🙄 Anyway Thanks a lot for your videos what u did for us selfteachers. IT is a little bit harder recopy old habbits but step by step it will. Také care✊

Just wondering why you have to keep the elbow still when you do the racket drop behind the back. If you lift your elbow, will it cause injury over time?

Why don’t have her in the trophy position first and then hit? I tried that position you’re teaching here in the half serve but it feels awkward. Maybe just me but the trophy phase might be a better starting point
@Shaunsweeney-Kubach71
@Shaunsweeney-Kubach71 Жыл бұрын
You are probably an advanced player, so it might seem awkward, but for a complete beginner it helps them start from the very basics. Jay Berger used to serve like that.

@@Shaunsweeney-Kubach71 too kind man. Definitely not advanced and still trying to get it down. Maybe I’ll give it another shot since the racquet drop and turn is the sore thumb on my serves. Still think the trophy position would be easier😊
@Shaunsweeney-Kubach71
@Shaunsweeney-Kubach71 Жыл бұрын
@@bmanbusee3812 the trophy position is definitely easier for most players. You should check out Jay Berger and check out how he served, plus Jays two handed backhand was world class. I have been working on my serve using mini cones, you can buy them at the dollar tree and they are great for accuracy and developing consistency. I also video myself serving so I can see what I am doing wrong and wright my friend. If you can just work on your toss and try to relax as much as you can. I just started playing tennis again after a 25 year hiatus. I posted videos of myself and progress on here. I used to play in tournaments and I used to play in the open tournaments. I stopped playing because I had two hip replacements and had trouble getting to balls. I am just trying to get back into the swing of things, so I can play in a tournament in December, show other disabled people that they can play tennis and have fun and meet new people. You seem like a nice person and I hope you get your serve banging my friend. Just be patient and kind to yourself, because it’s just a game and it’s a game you can play your entire life. GOD bless you and yours my friend. Nice to meet you my friend.
