For anyone that wants to learn speed jigging, book a trip on the Legend and ask Alex to teach you; listen, learn and watch him at stops he gets to drop a line. He is a super talented angler (and an awesome deckhand too)! Great video guys & see you later this season.

Can you fish a sinker rig on a vertical jigging setup?
@FishTheLegend5 ай бұрын
@@GorettyEnriquez yep! It would be the same thing just shorter. As long as its a PE 4-8 or 6-10 youre good. Basically your 8-130 rigs.

Steve and Alex, great video! Although, you guys are awesome, it can't be stressed enough that each angler MUST be physically prepared to fight their fish. You guys know all to well sometimes you find a biting school and all hell breaks lose, and help is not coming quickly, if at all.

For future video - How does Alex rig his daytime and nighttime setups on each rod/reel combo? Braid rating connected to what pound mono/flouro… Solid braid to Bimini to wind-ons or FG to mono or fluoro to chain knot, etc. please go into rigging details, how does he tie to his jigs, what assist hooks does he use, what size hooks for each lure size, one on top, two assist on bottom, day vs night rigged differently, etc. 🙏🏻

when i have fast jigged before, my bottom hooks get caught on my line, how do i prevent that?
@FishTheLegend6 ай бұрын
@@Lucaslikestofish Generally in that case you’re over pumping your jig. You probably pumped too hard and didn’t pick up enough slack in the line thus blowing out your jig. Shorter pumps and more speed should fix it!

What's the line rating for slow jigging rod?
@FishTheLegend9 ай бұрын
The medium light he runs 65 braid to either 40 or 60# fluoro. The medium heavy 80# braid to 60 or 80# fluoro. Extra heavy is going to be 100-150 fluoro tied to an FG knot.

Double San Diego works great
@FishTheLegend8 ай бұрын
Terminal knots of choice for H&M: Mono-fluorocarbon (like tying leader to top shot) is Seaguar knot Braid-mono/fluoro (like braid to top shot or leader) Line(any type)-hook/jig we prefer the Sd jam knot for inshore and lighter applications and the double Sd jam knot for offshore and big tuna applications. All knots tie well to about 150ish on mono and 100ish on fluoro. Above that we tend to crimp things
