Out of curiosity what is the finished size of the piece after all of the cutting and resewing? Would like to try this process but not sure that the end result will be sufficient to include in a quilt top.

Hello! You will lose quite a bit with the allowance for the seams, however it should be big enough to use in a quilt top because, while you lose with the seams, you gain that back because you are sewing 2 panels together. So you end up with a panel that should be roughly the same size as you started. We hope this helps! Happy quilting!
