Im Native Thai but watching this for finding how to use ก็ as well. it’s kinda funny but I really have no idea when it come to grammar because I never thought about it before. ก็ is like the word that we use most often like it can be used for every answer and affirmative sentence😂
Thanks so much, teacher! Right now, I'm using Ling app to study the Thai language but this video also helps so much as I can use these for more practical uses as Ling only allows me ton learn the words and not put them thoroughly in many different context. Appreciate your thorough and clear teaching :) Great video!

This is such a helpful video! Some of the meanings became intuitive after listening to the word being used in different sentences, but it's great to have a video properly explaining the meaning in different sentences. Thank you!

Some time ago, inspired by such abundant use of barbed wire, the following thought popped into my mind: บางเวลาชีวิตก็ทารูณโหดร้าย(คนเรา)เกินไป Figuratively, sometimes life is too sharp. I had originally written it with เสียดแทง yet later changed to ทารูณโหดร้าย to resemble the idea of "piercing" rather than that of a sharp edge. Here, I wanted to use ก็ to emphasize more of an 'approximate' or 'somewhat' nature. The description in this video is highly commendable. Another interesting expression is ไปก็ไป (yes, a Thai palindrome, like กนก). It's a tricky one, implying more than just its meaning "yes, I'll go; but I withold some reservation". It seems to be used when people hold or are unwilling to let go of grudges, such as from lack of assertiveness over that most popular custom of ไม่เป็นไร. I could be wrong, though. Thoughts? Some ideas for future lessons in writing: When to put space between words? Should there be space before ()? Should there be space before ๆ? At the end of a line, where should words be broken, and when is it not okay to hyphenate them? Since there is no period in Thai, I like to use the whitespace as a period of sorts, or full-stop and change of idea. This doesn't always work or fit, though.

It's also the shortest word in Thai. I seem to remember Thais commenting on Yingluck's overuse of this word. They weren't impressed.
Very good as usual! Can I just ask วันนี้กินอะไร or do I have to say วันนี้กินอะไรดี? I thought ดี meant ‘good’?
@ThaiwithMod3 жыл бұрын
If you want to ask for a suggestion, add ดี at the end. วันนี้กินอะไร is asking for a straight answer.

Thankyou, great lessons clearing up many doubts, guessing and simply copying what I hear from people around me. Mod is short for modern (ทันสมัย) and never heard anyone nicknamed this. I hear the "T" sound not the "D" sound. Can you clarify if its Mod or Mot (มด). I hope its Mod as its very appropriate, modern teaching.
@ThaiwithMod3 жыл бұрын
มด Mod is my nickname, it means "ant". It is common for Thai people to use the names of animals as nicknames. :)
@thesheperd75673 жыл бұрын
@@ThaiwithMod OK I understand now. Ive been saying mot (ant) for years but its "do dek" mod with quicksoft ด. A proud man, today I learned ant is mod not mot 555. Thanks. The 3 letter Thai nicknames are soo hard to put faces to, too many similar and if you call out 10 people you could make a song.

Confused! "what shall we eat today", in the thai text, this sentence ends with "dii" which translates to "good"??
@ThaiwithMod Жыл бұрын
The word " ดี dii" has another function besides 'good. When it is used to put after a question phrase, the speaker is asking for a suggestion.
