Thank you for all of these great videos. I am a rock guitarist of 50 years. I just purchased a Martin SC-13E and I came across one of your videos. You have such a warm personality and you explain everything in such a simple and insightful way. I still have so much yet to learn on guitar and I think your videos will help me improve in many areas. I think one of the greatest things about playing guitar is that there are always things to learn. Merry Christmas to you as well.

Those chords except for the C-add9 are new to me and I like em. They remind me of some 60's-70's mellow songs, but I can't remember what they are, does anyone know ???
@guitarnotionsАй бұрын
It reminds me of “The Girl Fron Ipanema” - boss nova style song 😀 (not the same chords but similar style)❤️

@guitarnotions That just might be the song I was thinking. And thank you for the lesson and responding.
@@guitarnotions I believe Jobim wrote it as Fmaj⁷ G⁷ Gm⁷ F#⁷♭⁵ Fmaj⁷ F#⁷♭⁵ For guitarists from the past ... Antônio Carlos Jobim ... would want him for teacher ...

Thats an interesting progression... Well, its fun to take any progression and try a few of the chords either up or down 2 or 3 frets and see how they sound a lot of them are pretty good....IE I was trying Fmaj with all the other same chords ... sometimes need to fiddle around with different versions of the same chords IE Dmaj7 or Dmaj9 or even Dmaj6, which is really the same thing as a Bmin7... may as well go on in that vein...Dmaj9 is also an Amaj6 which, guess what? yep F# m7..... May give someone an idea or some lee way into rules or breaking out of them which dont forget is the name of the game
