What is the name of this chord I was always curious about this one
@robertwrenn58784 жыл бұрын
@@rodneycampbell2030 Depending on how you look at it - it's a D6 moving to a B7. No 3rd in either triad

Real talk... I stole this core from Chris Payton, and I didn't know how to utilize it effectively, but the light just came on for me when you talk to this cord and how to use it. I have been rocking with you since Gospel Chops, you and Marty Schwartz are the greatest teachers on KZbin as far as I'm concerned.

Hey Kerry, it was good to see you and see your demonstrations on Primetime last night. I enjoyed what you had to say. I am a traditional country player, some old 50s style R&R. It seems you and I have similar percussion styles. I just watched your lesson today. Cool!

Thank you for you videos! Love it when you improvise outside the basic ideas of the lesson and add sauce when you play. What would help me a lot is if you could throw the "number" of the chord (or any passing chords) you use, on the screen, when "vibin out" and demonstrating the concepts/ideas in the lesson. When you do this, the most ear candy is given, and seeing/knowing the number of the chord you are on during this time would help me connect the dots with the "tricks" you play. For example, I've always liked the sound of when you play...say, a Dmin7 rooted on the 5th string, and then sliding to the Dmin9 based off he 6th string. But I never could connected the dots to understand that, that was all you were doing. It wasn't until you quickly mentioned this in one of your "sauce" videos, and when you did, I was like "Ohhhhh....OK!" By the way, my guitar playing has been plateaued forever. With your videos I have hope I can slowly break through it. What's up with individual lesson over Zoom though? Do you even have time for that?

Thanks Kerry, love these, if not to just listen to the progressions and tone. I struggle with getting that vibrato on chords? How are you doing this? I thought it was just a whammy bar shake, but I don't see one here and I have a fixed bridge les paul style guitar. Thought about adding a Bixby. This is the next element I want to add to my guitar playing.
