Great fundamentals - love the straight forward break downs, helps so much. 180 on the front wheel (with brake) feels so natural but this has always felt weirdly alien, commitment/head turn so key. Thanks guys, keep em coming 👊

Stoked you're diggin' the format, thanks for the feedback!! I can definitely see how the pivot feels more natural, it does feel pretty odd at first to land backward with so much momentum, & committing to that can be TRICKY! -Mike

The tip to not force carve the rotation and whip around the backend is soo crucial. I've been working on learning 180s over the past month. Initially I was doing just that and it was very inconsistent and hard to control the landing into fakie, so I was barely landing any attempts. After I adjusted to the proper spin technique everything felt more natural and I've been landing them much more consistent. I learned how to 180 out of a bank at my local park similar to the one shown in the video. Currently I'm working on 180s out of smaller banks and I find that its much harder and the bunny hop technique is more crucial to have dialed in to get the full rotation since the bank isn't assisting you as much with the bunny hop height. Personally as a beginner I find it much easier to 180 out of a bank than just on flat. I'm hoping to get it dialed on flat pretty soon before taking it to other features. Really enjoy the bmx tutorials, you guys break down things so much better than most others on yt. Keep up the great work. As for other tutorials, now that you have a how to fakie and how to 180, would love to see a how to half cab tutorial. But since that might not get as much clicks, how to 360 would be great also.

Heck yeah! So glad that insight clicked with ya. That's such a fun part about the learning process, discovering those nuggets of gold that have been there the entire time! Thanks for the suggestions for future videos! We'll be sure to put both of those in the queue!

Right on!! So stoked to hear that the carve bit is helping amigo & thanks for the feedback on the videos; that means a lot. We have a BUNCH more BMX content coming. We'll be sure to add half cab & 360 to the mix. We have how to drop in coming this week, next up how to disaster but one of the two you mentioned may be next for us! Keep shredding homie. -Mike

I've never thought to try it moving. I only get about 160 static. Except that one time I tried it off a kicker ramp (yes it really does matter if you can't fakie).

The 180 is one of my goals but I don't think my bunnyhop is high enough yet to attempt it. How much height do I need to be getting? The idea of carving and then trying to bunnyhop partway through the carve always seemed offputting so I was glad to hear about the natural carve!
@JoyOfBike3 ай бұрын
I'd say an appropriate height to make the 180 a bit more simple would be 8-10"! -Mike

This possible on a mountain bike?
@JoyOfBike3 ай бұрын
@@SarahBaethge absolutely! I used it a lot on tight switch back corners. Same principle applies, if you’re on a suspension bike - as you’re compressing down for the bunny hop load the suspension as well. Otherwise it’s all the same! I can be more difficult because the bike is bigger.
