One of the best tips I ever got was " slow wins the race when docking" You can always add power but slowing down is not so easy.... Sometimes we watch the show, and sometimes we are the show! So I learned early on not to pick on people, maybe help them out docking, because next time it maybe your turn to have the wind or current catch you off guard. Good job Girls!

Alright Gale Force instructors - today was my very first 'back into my slip' day! I watched this video like 20x and followed it as close as I could remember - it only took me 3 attempts and I only closed my eyes once... SUCCESS! No boat was harmed, sacrificed, threatened or bruised in the backing up of my boat...lol Thank you for the class!

@@joshlogue9292 typical thinking...#Blame Somebody Else. Western Civilization is based on the "individual" taking responsibility for their own thinking and actions. YOU are responsible, no one else. As a boat owner (that pays taxes for nonexistent services for the most part) boat captains personify Western Civ- ALL captains must take individual responsibility for EACH decision (or nondecision) they make. The two women in this video have a FATHER and a MOTHER, both of which model the virtues necessary to pilot a $200,000+ hull thru the water. God Bless all of them for ALL who have the brains, resources and courage to crew or pilot any vessel that treads in oceans and blue water (deep) pools of H2O. Ecclesiastes 12 is the sum total of the matter!

I had a 23 foot Crownline until Hurricane Sandy destroyed it, but I was at 2 separate slips during the time I had it, I used to sweat bullets trying to dock it at the first slip and the second slip which was nicer and bigger. I just said screw it and went is bow first. I never did really master docking the boat and provided much free live entertainment for fellow boaters watching me. Anyway, Captains Emily and Amanda you are good and make it look easy.
