Love that you love fpv drones and that you are bringing it to a wider audience. And yes get to acro asap I remember when I first started and the first days of acro can be challenging but that's what make it fun always new trick or style you can learn... You'll be flying with us in no time! Oh and on your rates it's something that you have to figure out on your own, once you've been flying a bit you shouldn't be fighting the sticks, if you push the sticks for what you think should be a full roll... Then that's what should happen, if you are finding yourself rather under or over rotating then adjust you max dps (degrees per second)accordingly... If it feels too sensitive in the center of the sticks then add more expo. Ps been watching your channel for a bit and though I'm only into quads at the .moment you've got me wanting to branch out... Keep up the great content!

I have a similar little quad and they are fun because they dont break easily. I found that the video works best when I am far away from noise such as wifi, etc. My range was double at our flying field compared to a nearby school yard. I finally changed me video tx to a 100 mw and now it works really well.

The best part is AIO fpv cameras are only $18 on amazon and the little whoop batteries to power them are super cheap as well. I stuck one on a little RC car and it felt like I was going 200mph in the living room.

That's great that the kit includes spare props. The standalone drone doesn't so I nearly was unable to review mine when I lost a prop in my backyard. Thankfully my wife found it. You are a fast learner. Is this your first drone because you are a great flyer! Fpv it actually easier in many respects because as you said in this video you don't have to worry about your orientation and reversed controls. One thing to be mindful of is those spare Makerfire are standard 4.20v and the Tinyhawk charger says 4.35v on the back and there's no voltage switch so unless it has an internal sensor then I suspect it'll ruin those extra lipos. I wish I could get mine outdoors and do some flying but it is too cold here :(

The goggles run diversity ie they choose the best signal between the 2 antenna. A patch antenna has higher gain but is directional (cone shaped area) so point it in the direction you are predominantly flying. The mushroom reception is donut shaped with less range than the patch but in all directions but directly on axis with antenna and normally set upright, and high.
@RCGirl6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info!
@mrzon93446 жыл бұрын
Pleasure.. Another consideration is that antenna come in 3 varients - Linear , Right Hand Circular Polarized (RHCP) and Left Hand Circular polarized (LHCP). The tiny Hawk will have linear (dipol) so idealy you willl need linear antenna for the goggles. the polarized setup helps with reflected signals (flying near walls etc) They do work with linear but with a loss (lower gain) I believe. The last thing you'll need to check before you buy is the connector on the goggles either RP-SMA or SMA (you can get adapters).
@washingtonstatepicker34605 жыл бұрын
The antennas should not be vertically and horizontally polarized?

I'm not sure what GHz that one is...but I believe that 5.8 hz is better than the 2.4 hz for range and signal clarity. I read that somewhere...but it makes sense. Since those battereies are so cheap to get long flight times get HV batteries that you can charge to 4.35 and run them down to 2.9 or 3.0v. It reduces the length of the battery but the batteries are really not that long lasting to begin with. I think a 6 pack of 260mAh HV batteries is like $20. Good review.

@StacemanFPV6 жыл бұрын
Just ditch angle... go straight for acro.. it really will fly better that way. And it's actually easier to fly.... the longer you fly in angle, the harder it is to switch. Acro mode makes a lot more sense once you start. Basically, the pitch/roll sticks correspond to how fast you want to move in that direction, and not how much of an angle you want. So basically if you pitch forward, and go back to center stick, the quad will maintain that angle, until you pull back to adjust the angle.
@RCGirl6 жыл бұрын
Ahh interesting. that's the best description I've gotten of how that mode works. Thanks!
@StacemanFPV6 жыл бұрын
@@RCGirl in acro, it's a lot like flying a plane. Basically it doesn't re-level itself. What you'll find is that when flying in acro, you'll be at center stick or close to center stick much of the time. In LOS it's a good bit harder, but with fpv, flying acro makes way more sense. This is coming from someone who flew the self level modes for well over a couple of years before switching. It took a good bit of unlearning, but I'd never go back. None of my quads have that mode any more.
@Jronesfpv6 жыл бұрын
angle mode is good for indoors. but big areas acro is more fun.

If you want to record using the kit goggles, you'll have to get an external DVR (digital video recorder). Otherwise, some of the nicer goggles have a DVR included.
