I have one of the older versions. I find it so hard to fly in acro mode. Is there a tune somewhere for that? Like I've got a 5" that I just rip but this thing is impossible to control, or is that just a thing with toothpicks?
@alexklein44183 жыл бұрын
Kind of a toothpick thing when it comes to freestyle but i think project mockingbird has a tune for it that should at least help
@justainchoe61413 жыл бұрын
Naw dude. These tinyhawk commercials on KZbin are fake. They don’t fly like they are on rails, not outside. It wobbles. Acro, one thing that helped was increasing the rates a little, but that’s just flipping over faster so that you can recover sooner, lol. Get a Mobula 6 or meteor65 if you want a whoop to acro with. If you aren’t too great a pilot and crash a lot, people put the mobula7/metoer75 frames but with their smaller motors/props. The 40mm props with 0802s are less acro and more flight times. I like that emax is making pusher drones, but what I dislike is that they are the only ones that makes the motors and props for that frame, and being limited to the prop choices (2 options) and motor (1 choice) really sucks.
@tomkoller7496 ай бұрын
I also had the problem with the arm switch. You can easily change this in beta flight. Swap Aux 1 with Aux 3. Then the arm switch is up. ("arm", with "flip after crash") swap 😊 nice video🤟👍

great review! would you recommend this over the cetus pro?
@justainchoe61413 жыл бұрын
Nurk can’t say anything that’s adverse to emax because they are the #1 selling RTF kits, so I’ll answer. I would choose Cetus Pro over for beginners, but I really wish that Cetus Pro kit was ELRS (I’m sure the next one will be, but who knows when they’ll release it). Anyways, the reason why the Cetus Pro is better for beginners imo is that they put a lot more thought into the progression and functionality of the drone. It steps new pilots gradually using different modes and rates to grow into the drone. The Cetus Pro was designed specifically for that purpose, whereas this Tinyhawk is still the same drone they made 2 years ago with a few minor changes and a brand new goggle/controller. That’s really what they are selling here. Nurk didn’t like wearing the goggles. No one does. The screen thing is a novelty, but is it worth it? Bleh. If you have money to throw away, I guess. Controller is D8 and tries desperately to look like DJi. Makes me vomit. I have a feeling they will eventually sell a ELRS conversion kit like BetaFPV did, but emax progresses so slow.
@eternal59213 жыл бұрын
@@justainchoe6141 thanks for your answer, i really like the cetus pro and i think its a litle cheaper too
@justainchoe61413 жыл бұрын
@@eternal5921 honestly, I would recommend getting something like the jumper t-lite as your controller, practice on a sim for 6-10 hours (especially throttle control), and then get a good 1S drone that isn’t “beginner” like Meteor 65, Mobula 6, or the Nanohawk X to practice flying acro on.

I really want to get into FPV but its not a cheap thing to get into. Is this the best package for a beginner to start with or is there a better option? This one seems priced well but how quickly are you gonna feel like you want to upgrade any of the equipment?
@bugsy7423 жыл бұрын
Depends what you like mate, if you think you are going to just whoop then go for it but if you like the look of freestyle then spend time on the sim and go from there, imho I believe it’s a fallacy to start on a whoop if you aren’t going to be flying that style, I know plenty of people who started on a 3,4 or 5” quad, this “progression” thing starting on something that flies completely different to what you are moving onto next is nothing short of ridiculous but then that’s just me 👍 However what I will say is even though I started on a 4” quad I’m here looking at this fantastic lil whoop all this time later and considering it 😅 If you can fly a freestyle quad you can fly a whoop, not sure it works so well the other way around but it wouldn’t be too far off as long as you haven’t been flying in level/angle mode the whole time 🤝
@MitchellFX53 жыл бұрын
@@bugsy742 ok, that makes sense. I’ve thought these were cool for flying inside and getting into the sport but ideally in the future if I enjoy doing it think I’d like to get a larger quad for outside. I just don’t want to waste money and it’s not a cheap hobby to get into. I kind of like the suggestion of starting on a sim but have no idea what equipment I’d need. Assuming headset and controller but again what’s a good option for a beginner that won’t break the bank but I’ll also want to use for a while.

Mob6 for drone, Jumper TLite for radio, skyzone CobraS/EV800DM for goggles. Bunch of batteries. Join a discord and you'll have all the help you'll ever need to set it up and any issue that arise. The drone is all plug and play so you won't have to solder should you break anything in a major crash, but it flys great inside and out and you can modify it as you go very easily to alarmed 75mm frame if you would like better outdoor performance. I hope it goes well for you mate, but I can't recommend joining discord enough for beginners as you'll get help so easily and feel comfortable getting I to the hobbie.

Plus with the tune on this you're going to have to upgrade when they fix the washout and tune issues on this new one. Shame Emax is falling behind with thier quads as far as flight performance, they used to be so good.

This is what I was just told I need to do. Do you have recommendations for a good setup that won’t break the bank for a complete noob?
@justainchoe61413 жыл бұрын
@@MitchellFX5 hi, if you want something similar to this tinyhawk, I recommend the Mobula 7 or meteor 75 with ELRS. If you want something more agile and « on rails, » then Mobula 6 meteor65. You can get the BetaFPv elrs Radio or Jumper T-Lite & ELRS module to connect to the drone. Goggles, I really recommend the Cobra X as the best keeper goggles, but EV800D or BetaFPV VR01 and their rebrands are the bar for FPV goggles and are an inexpensive way to get decent quality. Also, the truth is that you’re going to need a solder kit ($50-100) and should have one ready.
