When I was a beginner, I used my touchpad. It felt like I`m painting with my finger, which is a million times better than a mouse. For using the pen tool and to navigate over the canvas, I still prefer touchpad, over the tablet.

As is the case during these strange times of CV19 KZbin threw this my way. I have a graphics tablet that I have no idea how to use properly and an overwhelming desire to produce digital art. You have just given me a quick, and very informative, lesson. I've hit subscribe and will get to it! BTW I'm 68 and every day is a school day. NEVER stop learning.

So I know that I’m waaay late with this comment, but I just wanted to say Please don’t feel discouraged! Painting is hard, and learning new mediums is hard. We can’t compare ourselves to the people in all the KZbin tutorials who’ve spent years and years perfecting their art. It’s just not realistic. Instead, practice practice and practice some more, and after a couple of months, compare yourself to YOU. Look at the things you created when you first started, see if you improved. And be okay with the fact that for most of us, we’re only happy with the outcome of like 10% of the things we paint. To improve in something requires a lot of failure, and that’s okay.
