I've been wanting to learn to play this song forever and a day. I knew the cords. There written on the album but I was always missing something. I LOVE THIS SONG! Thanks. Thanks for the lesson. Always provide good tips. Just a great song. I like the walk-up for the verse/chorus. Would you use it for both, or perhaps limit it to one or the other, or perhaps be less structured and just throw it in now and then?

Slide the D chord from the first fret to the supposed D position and you have the beginning of Sugar Magnolia. :)

I remember someone teaching Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chill 🌶 on Dead tour in 1990. It was a hard song. We both was on tour and jammed together for a few months. I never seen him after that tour. I really wish I had a photographic memory. I can play twice as good as my nephew but he learns twice as fast as me. He only has to look at sheet music one time and that's it. I look at it a hundred times and still miss a lick hear and there. I taught him how to play Simple Man when he was 11 and I was 31 a year later he was playing Dave Matthews. He's got a pornographic memory!
