From a casual prospective this track track is one of the best in the game. Playing it on time trials is a nightmare, especially on 200. I can never seem to get past the tree shortcut without bonking into a tree are falling off the track.

Grumble Volcano has some of the worst track design in the game in that you rely on visual cues like the V shape in the cliff wall, the second tree because *you can’t actually see the track ahead.* That’s pretty much the entire reason the mushroom shortcut is hard, can’t see sh*t because you’re driving over a hill with a poorly positioned, low fixed camera angle. Amazing how MK64 addressed this problem w/ high camera angle and then they just sort of unrealized it in MK8. No interface customization because of Nintendo’s bizarre obsession w/ having consumers “play it the way it’s supposed to be” is a big reason people stay away from the company e.g. left/right inverted controls in some titles. Grumble Volcano really does show where this company’s in-house development fails.

That lava jump by the trees is so helpful. It looks so hard but I’ve managed to get it and it’s so fun

Thanks for the bayesic training again, I decided to go for lower path rather than glider ramp, also mushroomed off the cliff edge on lap 3 cus this course was so hard! Even with the easier strats the trees are annoying to have deal with, hopefully i can now select this track online with more confidence!

Definitely one of my favorite tracks. Thank you so much for these videos, I've been using them to improve so much on every course. It is so much easier to get better with these videos, they are very easy to follow and save the pain of figuring out a lot of consistent paths. I am almost done with the first 48 courses and looking forward to starting the Booster Course training.

I learn so much from these videos and was eagerly waiting for Grumble Volcano to come up. This is my favorite track in the entire game, and one that I myself have put a lot of time into. Hearing your take on the Grumble Volcano strats is much appreciated. All that's left for me to do is to learn how to take the ending cut shroomless, which to date I continue to fail miserably at. All I got to say to myself is to just keep pushing until I get it, I suppose.

Oh, so *THIS* is how you became a beast at this course. 👀 I may or may not be within 10 seconds of your time now when I was about 12 seconds behind before finding this video myself.

Recently, using the pre-wave 4 recommended build of Waluigi, Biddybuggy, Azure Roller, and Paper Glider, I set a goal of trying to get as close as possible to or beat your demonstration PB time on this track. My aching thumb better thank itself that I got within 50 Milliseconds of your old PB with a 1:57:828 to show for it. Edit: My aching thumb is now happy again since I improved my PB to a time of 1:57:614. This was also done without getting an UMT in the cave since I wasn’t able to get it without taking a bad line as a result.

Great course! I am pretty solid with drifting in the curves, but had no clue I could/ should try to go from the blue ramp to the orange pad and never tried the shortcut or even thought there was one before. Lap 3 shortcut has been a pain in the ass forever. I didn't know about the NISC and using the mushroom, I always land too far too the left and fall off. Great new things to try. Two thumbs up!

I’m way too freaking stubborn to use anyone but Peach for my last time trial but somehow she seems effective with the same build, though this track is still a dang nightmare and I just instinctually improvise if I land in the off-road which screws me over, but I think I’m gonna get this done with this build with Peach, so thanks!

Just knocked 3 or 4 seconds off my previous PB here, admittedly with a suboptimal build (medium Mii with all Standard parts, including the default Super Glider). Unless I want to remove my thumbs' ability to produce fingerprints, that will have to be good enough for me, at least for a while.

I can't seem to get that line you get on the cave ultra mini turbo Edit: After commenting this > New Bayesic training video comes out > Watch the video > Feel inspired to run the track > Run the track as best you remember the video > Feel satisfied with your time > Rewatch the video > Realize there are strats you didn't remember > Attempt those strats > Fail to do the first one > Get discouraged >New Bayesic training video comes out

Wow this video is rlly rlly good very impressed with your pb I’ve got a 1:59.8 without the ending NISC as I found it rlly hard but I might try it . Also if u use a shroom to do the ending cut how much does it lose to doing it shroomless

I'm in a love-hate relationship with this circuit since the MKWii version: hated to run in normally, then loved it as I practiced in TT, but then hated because how difficult it was to get a consistent run. And it seems MK8D made it better/worse

Hey Bayesic. I use the “walugigi wiggler rollers” combo and was wondering if I can switch out walugigi for any character and still have the same exact stats. And if so, then which characters? Playing as walugigi all the time in online gets kind of boring.

@@ziggy8703 For the most part. In this track I'm not delay drifting around the turn after the cave ultra mini turbo just cause you don't have enough time to delay drift and take a good line But yeah I try and delay drift as much as possible
