This was the first KISS song I heard, way back in 1978. As you can tell by my user pic, I never grew tired of listening to KISS!

Gotta give it to Paul Stanley. He wrote some pretty cool rhythm riffs. Think of Detroit Rock City and others.

When listening to the Love Gun Album, I don't hear the C# note being muted. It sounds jangly and played with sustain. I also hear a slide into the E cord on the 7th fret. Yes, I know you can play it in different positions. But it sounds clearly to me like a slide into the E cord on the 7th fret.
@frogskocinq10 жыл бұрын
Sheet music does not show it being muted. I think Steve is showing a technique to not include the initial note in the chord (base +(5+7)). Seems the half step tuning is throwing things off little and which chords are being played when I compare to the sheet music (sorry). There is a slide at the end of the second measure on the way up to (E/F) from (C#/D) as well as between (A/Bb) to (B/C) at the end of the fourth measure.

@GuitarSongsChannel11 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for commenting and sharing. This song has some tricky parts so don't feel discouraged. Try working on the song piece by piece and it can be a mid to long term project. Work on one part first, learn it well and then move on to the next part. The other tricky thing is that originally the guitar is tuned 1/2 step down so if you want to play along you need to tune it as it is on the record. If you find technical difficulties like playing Hammer Ons and Pull Offs work on these techniques first before attempting to learn the parts. Keep in mind that this is something that takes time, practice and consistency are the key. If you find it's just too hard it's better to find and easier song so that we don't get frustrated. It's really important to be aware of our skill level and that's totally cool! We always have time to go back once we feel comfortable with the techniques involved. Hope this helps and keep up the good work!
