I'm still stuck in the time trial here. I find this track the most difficult of the newly uploaded ones. Thanks for the video Bayesic!

I ran this course a lot, it's fun to get through the twists and turns once you learn it.

A top hat (also called a high hat, a cylinder hat, or, informally, a topper) is a tall, flat-crowned hat for men traditionally associated with formal wear in Western dress codes, meaning white tie, morning dress, or frock coat. Traditionally made of black silk or sometimes grey, the top hat emerged in Western fashion by the end of the 18th century. Although it declined by the time of the counterculture of the 1960s, it remains a formal fashion accessory. A collapsible variant of a top hat, developed in the 19th century, is known as an opera hat.

Honestly one of my favourite booster pass tracks so far. Between the music and the track layout and a lot of nostalgia for when Tour came out in 2019, I love it!!

Thanks for the tutorial Bayesic! I really like this track, so I grinded out a 1:26.370 and it's definitely one of my better times now (it's worth noting this is with the patch changes)!

Here are some additional strategies I used to save time, I was able to get down to 1:27.4: - The Lap 1 shortcut was hard for me, most of my resets when first learning the course was at that spot. Here was my setup that made it easier. The heavyweight Best Known Time (that I talk about later) grabs coins 5 & 6 on the left rather than the right, this gives better alignment for the MT into the shortcut I think. I would charge a right MT while collecting the left coins, do a left hop, then right hop onto the grass to start the next drift. I would shroom right as I touch the grass and held my right MT drift until I was aligned with coin 7 to release the MT. - As Lap 1 and 2 end, I do an additional MT to the left. This is a little hard to do without bumping into the curb on the right so make sure to start when you have enough room. I found it was worth it but the time save is minimal. - For the last shroom on Lap 3 I do an SMT instead of 2 MTs. However it's super easy to bonk the wall while doing this so I charge up to an MT beforehand, wait until I'm in the middle of the shortcut road to shroom, then hold a wide drift to charge up the UMT. Then, after the first ramp I do a left MT after the right MT. I can definitely say sliding into the last trick for alignment definitely saves time, as I've been exactly tied with my ghost going into it and sliding into it did help. - If you're going with a heavyweight build instead of a baby like the world record does, the heavyweight Best Known Time uses a shroom during a UMT through the Central Park grass on Lap 2 rather than at the start. Believe it or not, with my testing the shroom start saves -0.5 while Central Park shortcut saves -0.7, so it was a net time save to use it through the grass than at the start. It will take a bit of time to learn how to drive through it without bonking, though. I would start drifting early and charge up to an MT beforehand, shroom right before the grass, widen my drift for the shortcut, then tighten up to finish the UMT, then quickly start up an SMT for the next turn. I also skipped the left MT before it and angled myself right towards it after the SMT at the start of Lap 2 to have time to align it. Here's the heavyweight Best Known Time video so you can look at it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eITHoaV_pdh1nKs - The heavyweight Best Known Time uses Rosalina Streetle/Azure Rollers/Paper Glider (I used Link, him and King Boo share stats with Rosalina.) The reason for this is Rosalina and Streetle combined add +1.5 bars traction, which makes turning easier on the wet roads. It has the same mini-turbo and only -0.25 bars less ground speed. In practice, I tried racing Waluigi Biddybuggy against this combo and they run almost exactly the same speed, but I found the Rosalina Streetle build to be more consistent. This one might just be personal preference as the differences are very minimal to feel.

I got to 1:27.4 myself. The 2 coins which are 5 and 6 are tough for me to pick up without losing speed or drifting into something. If i could do that then 1:27 will be toast. Matter of fact im going to work on that now.

If you use Roy Streetle instead of Roy Biddybuggy or Rosalina Streetle is that the best trade off between traction and speed?
@MeesterTweester2 жыл бұрын
@@ryanhlfc I guess it's up to you. Just know that it has -0.25 mini-turbo, which is the most important stat, so maybe you should stick to Roy Biddybuggy or Rosalina Streetle instead.

@@MeesterTweester I managed a 1.29.8 with Rosalina Streetle but I may use Roy Streetle to replicate the strats and get more speed

Love these videos. Also why is the dirt slippery in this track? 🤨 doesn’t make much sense

Informative video, thank you Bayesic! I didn't realize it was optimal to use your first mushroom at the start, rather than cutting the grass at the first shortcut (which was causing me trouble). I guess the first 4 coins really are worth it Also, I was wondering - is there a reason why you didn't do a mini-turbo trick off the set of red carpet stairs? Is it an alignment thing?
@Bayesic Жыл бұрын
I forget tbh but I think I copied one of the shroomless records when I did that
