Outstanding lesson. I’ve been a rock, blues and a bit of jazz guitarist for 50 years. I’ve been recognized as a good player by many people around my area where I’ve gigged for 45 years. Now I’m kinda at the end of playing live gigs. I’ve always been a fan of classical guitar and think it is time I sell off one of my many electric guitars for a nice classical guitar and try my hand at learning some. I will be watching your tutorial videos for techniques. Thank you for your lesson videos.

Best classic guitar tutorial. Thanks a lot from Indonesia. I am search for acoustic guitar tutorial Bach Cello and just found it. Jesus bless you Sir. 🙏🙏🙏

thank you for this in-depth detailed tutorial of the subtle hand / finger movements required to ply this piece, with for me some level of acceptability.... Being a steel string acoustic player, delving back ( pun intended ) into the Bach compositions is like oxygen to the mind..

I love how you explain the piece bar by bar. I think a lot more people should take your lead. its a lot easier when you're a musician like me, who cant read sheet music but has a good ear. at least now more or less I can TRY and follow while looking at the sheet music to get an idea of what is happening. amazing job. keep it up!

Question: The first note of bar 9 he plays a B but every other video I’ve seen or heard, they play an F# on the sixth string (actually an E since the string is tuned down to a D ). I love this video, definitely the best teacher I’ve found to learn this, I just wonder if this is a mistake. Another note in question is the first note of the 11 bar, he plays an open A on the fifth string when everyone else I see plays an F# on the fourth fret of the sixth string.

Nice video. Very detailed. Thank you. Question: why did you transpose it from G to D?
@h.r.42872 жыл бұрын
I would assume for ease of playing. On guitar(especially accoustic) it can be pretty difficult to play songs in certain keys as guitar relies on the open strings a lot. For example, at just the beggining of the piece, you would have to hold a pretty weird chord shape and the hammer off would be more difficult too(because it would hammer off to an open note.) I think tonality can play a big part too(ex: him being able to hit an open d without any finger placements on 2 separate strings allows for more diversity) I think for these reasons, transposing the piece to drop D was a pretty smart thing to do. Hope this helped :)

Maybe keep practicing until your fingers get strong enough to not tense or cramp. I hope you're still playing, this is far above my skill level with the picking hand. Cheers and God bless.
