Hi Jim The Osborne brothers doing Ruby on utube. Have you seen Sonny eat that song up? Wow, wish you would watch it and make a video on all those licks he does. Seems like Ruben and Train 45 all mixed together. The part up the neck around the 12th fret just blows my mind. Not sure what he’s doing hammering with his pinky. Running up and down the neck. Earl does something like that but nothing what Sonny does with it. Love your teachings. Mike

Been doing the pluck pinch exercise, and loving it (Maxwell Smart ^-^). I have my eyes closed and just feel it. A bit like a meditation getting lost in the sound. I find practising on the banjo so relaxing and enjoyable. Ty so much for sharing.

If you do requests, could you do “too old to dream” by nick shoulders, he’s not a very popular artist so I couldn’t find any tablature or tutorials on the song, but he’s what got me into banjo and all that, if you could do a tutorial that would be great! If you can’t that’s all right! The KZbin channel, Western Af, had a great video of him playing it on the banjo but slowly so that might help, thanks!

Jim, my Deering Sierra came and it's beautiful! Am I fooling myself or is it actually a lot easier to play?! One question though, it came with nylon strings... is that good, bad or ugly? It sounds fine, plays fine and feels fine so go with it right? For anyone in the UK looking for a banjo of any budget I seriously recommend eaglemusicshop.com . I ordered on Friday afternoon and it was sent the same day. I got it the following Tuesday. The packaging was excellent, the bridge placement was perfect (tested with the harmonics on the 12th) and it was even still in tune.
@edwardmunroe28434 жыл бұрын
You know what on closer inspection they are not nylon, just really clean steel because they are new. D'oh!
