I'm a new Switch owner and pretty terrible at Mario Kart, but I've been really enjoying these deep dives even if I need to focus on basics more.

Pretty simple. Drift and use your items in a strategic way. For example if you have a coin in first, NEVER use it unless a projectile/red shell is coming because if you use it and you have an item in your inventory, a boo could steal your item. Also if you have a coin with nothing else in your inventory, you’ll always get something that isn’t a coin.

Your prom alr know but the game isn’t like wii, where speed matters. This game is about drifting. Push zr to hop, and push zr while holding a direction will make you drift that way. If you are gonna bonk into a wall, spam zr and the direction you want to go on to try and fix your angle

Lol I was just looking for pointers on how to not constantly go off-road on the wavy part on the back of Yoshi’s head. This was so much more involved than I knew people even *got* with Mario Kart. I’m not planning to learn how to do any of this, but I’m still impressed!

Great vid - a track I haven’t touched very often and had a pretty poor time on it. Still a way to go but by adding in the second cut behind the piranha got my time down to about 1.55.5 - need to practice the other 2 cuts to keep getting quicker 👍

Hey, I've been able to do the waterfall jump without using the mushroom, but because I tried to do three laps in a row, it killed my time since I fell on laps 2 and 3. Have you ever been able to pull off the waterfall NISC? I feel like if you were able to beat the crap out of it and explain how to approach the f#$%^&g thing, maybe that extra mushroom could come handy elsewhere and help improve the time.
@Bayesic2 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure that even if you could do the NISC that the gap jump before it saves so much time that you’re better off using your mushroom there regardless, especially since you can do every other shortcut without a mushroom But yeah I never bothered trying to learn it lol

I’m an inside drift player and I’m on the leaderboards of Yoshi circuit although I don’t think my spot will be there for long and also I don’t know if it is possible to be able to keep up with the 1.41 minute times bcs the beginning shortcut is 10x times harder

I've seen that the waterfall shortcut can be done shroomless (though it's insanely difficult). Why doesn't the world record do it? Is saving a shroom to use elsewhere slower overall, or is it just so difficult, nobody bothered to perfect it?
@Bayesic2 жыл бұрын
Good question. My guess is that doing the initial gap cut optimally saves a ton of time, but you need to use your mushroom to get through it because you land in the off-road, and every other shortcut on the track you can do without a mushroom so there’s no real reason to use it anywhere else
@augiemannin43812 жыл бұрын
why does the WR use mr scooty instead of buggy? it is just an aesthetic choice or does the smaller hitbox make some kind of difference to the run
@Bayesic2 жыл бұрын
My guess is smaller hit box allows you to get closer to the wall when you would be able to with biddy

“Good” is relative to your own standards, but what I will say is that with a 1:58 there is definitely room for improvement without needing to do any super crazy strategies

Is there a point to coins if you have everything?
@Bayesic2 жыл бұрын
Nope. Technically they do give you a very very small mini turbo style boost, but it’s so small as to basically be nonexistent
@TLUDaProf2 жыл бұрын
@@Bayesic is this actually true? You have another coin video that suggests a speed boost and I changed my strategy to focus on collecting coins until I hit 10 and my times dropped dramatically. I couldn’t touch your Bowser Castle basic run time but when I got all 10 lap 1 I knocked around 2 seconds off my time.
@Bayesic2 жыл бұрын
@@TLUDaProf If you're asking about the speed boost yes it is true. I used to not think so but there are certain circumstances where getting a spin boost over offroad will eat up your mini turbos, and it turns out that using a coin does the exact same thing. Not sure if that makes sense lol
@Rhapsody-.2 жыл бұрын
I found this course pretty boring in its original form in Double Dash and its remake in the DS, but somehow I came to like it here because of how technical is to play and master. That being said, it can be very frustrating trying to get through the shorcuts in the most optimal possible way, so I'm fine with just take them normally. Also, in the last shorcut I've seen people grabbing coins 8th and 9th there in the first lap and then take the tyres shorcut in the other two ones
@scottfishing2948 Жыл бұрын
I dont understand the jump over the water, what is a neutral hop? I guess at that point you're still getting power from the first turbo but you hop to change the orientation of the cart, then hop again to get over the water?
@Bayesic Жыл бұрын
I don’t remember the context since I don’t normally do the water jump on 150 cc without a mushroom, but if I was talking about the shroomless version, then basically, it means that you have to do a very specific set up where you approach the shortcut, and then jump without doing anything with the joystick I don’t know why, but this tends to make you fly farther
@JacobGeigel11 ай бұрын
I got that gap jump at the beginning down easily but whenever I start charging up a mini turbo for the 2nd part of the shortcut I fail 😭
