The top-down view is constructive in figuring out the path I should take! Great video! Love it!

Single foot slalom also works. One foot behind you on one wheel, and slalom with the front skate. You can also do this when you have someone riding a bike in front of you and they allow you to hang on the cargo rack.

Would you suggest starting this in fitness skates or speed skates?
@thorupviktor4 ай бұрын
If the end goal is to be on speed skates, I'd go at it on those right away :) Outside edge control is harder on the low boots, so learning it in fitness skates, means you'd still have some ways to go in the low cut ones... If you need some extra inspiration on ways to make the fitness-to-speed transfer smoother, you can check out this training plan I made for exactly that :)
@@thorupviktor I already have that one 😄. I've been doing a half marathon weekly by myself in my speed skates, but my time is stuck around 75 minutes. I'm thinking not letting myself go to the other edges... Thus my question.

But I can't place my leg straight. I involuntarily place my leg at an angle to the direction of movement. That's why I end up with a "herringbone" movement.
@andre1987eph4 ай бұрын
its unnatural because in real life, when your ankle is in the same position (as when on outside edge of wheel inline skating) it's oftentimes the last event before a serious ankle sprain. Thats why there is a mental block

Adjusting the frames (towards the center) might help :)

@@thorupviktor Precisamente en este momento ajustaba el frame, pero uno de mis tobillos tiende a irse hacia adentro. Me ha sido imposible durante años usar el exterior de la rueda. Gracias por responder maestro.
