hey man, definitely agree. contact point over anything else. can you elaborate more on this, specifically on how much to open my face, how much to go through the ball, and the vertical displacement of my racket during the shot. i still have trouble gauging how to adjust for each ball, based on height, spin, pace of the ball i am receiving. now even mentioning on where im standing in the court. i would say on chest height balls, my racket is probably 10 degree open, i have the sensation of chopping a bit, despite given the advice thats now how to do it. but for me, i feel thats where i get a ton of penetration and the cleanest hit. i even find myself "swinging" a bit more if im further back in the court, or else the opponent just sees a puffer on their end. i would say this particularly brought my doubles game up a level in the past few months. id serve a bomb, get a very mid court, high airy ball back, too low for an overhead. its high forehand volley i need to hit with no pace on it. ive starting being rly aggressive on these balls. i get some good pace and angle i wasnt getting before when i was simply "punching" the ball.
