I have not studied the history of Malta much.. but the similarity between the Tunisian and the Maltese is deeper than that. Perhaps the Maltese are the Carthaginians who fled from the Carthage holocaust.. Perhaps there is a small percentage whose origins come from Tunisia.. But even the Sicilians were not Italians..there are Indigenous peoples in Sicily, then added to them the Greeks and Carthaginians.. The Phoenician language and its origin from Lebanon is one of the first languages .. and the most important .. so it is a great pride that we in Tunisia, Malta and Lebanon .. we share this pleasant ! nice ! dialect ❤

It's hard to judge on this objectively when you're Tunisian yourself but I am sure our dialect is among the most beautiful ones alongside Lebanese, Syrian (western dialect) and Palestinian (madani dialect), because these dialects sound smooth compared to the rest of Arabic varieties Phoenitics is always used by ppl to classify languages, for example the romanticization of French language by almost everyone on this planet. It's not the only reason why people think French is beautiful tho, just one of many reasons I guess
