This was an excellent refresher of probably the most used excel formula for me. Thanks for all your efforts!!!👍 I had one question regarding the selection of cells for the table_array argument in the VLOOKUP formula. Do we need to include the Header rows while selecting the cells for the table_array? I saw that the VLOOKUP formula worked correctly in both cases hence I wanted to confirm which is the best practice. Regards, Deepak.

I encountered a situation where VLOOKUP would not work unless my lookup column, in the array was in alpha order. Is there a rule I missed?

If range_lookup is TRUE or left out, the first column needs to be sorted alphabetically or numerically

I agree, for a lot of people their version of Excel doesn't have it.
