I only missed the sentence with "wish"; this verb is so tricky for us! As far as I know, in English this verb is basically and generally used to say "I'd like something happened/happens so that someone could benefit from that", while its equivalent in my language is used to express the desire of something good to happen to someone else in the future. But in English you can also say "I wish you all the best", or "I wish you a merry Christmas"; this second use of this verb matches perfectly with our equivalent verb, thus resulting misleading for us.

I hadn't thought of that before, but I can see why that would be confusing! Thanks for sharing. One important thing here is that if you use the verb wish, you have to use the correct verb forms, so "I wish you feel better" is wrong. "I wish you felt better" is possible, but the meaning is different. I wish you felt better = you don't feel better but I wish you did.

I query that shouldn't we remove "the" with mornings because we're not talking about specific days or time we're talking about a general time
@LearnAcademicEnglish5 ай бұрын
Good point! But we say "in the morning" or "in the afternoon" and we can add s to make them plural. Sometimes language doesn't follow rules neatly.

Hi there Ma'am,why is incorrecta to say stay more time? I would be more than glad If you could clear It up.
@LearnAcademicEnglish5 ай бұрын
Hmm, good question and I'm not sure. We just don't use "time" with the word "stay." We can use an adverb or a noun: stay longer, stay an hour. But we don't say "stay more time"

I heard you have been sick Or I heard you were sick Since if the sentence starts with the past it should end with the past
@LearnAcademicEnglish5 ай бұрын
That's not true. We can mix tenses when we are referring to different times. For example, "I remember that you already met her." I heard happened in the past, but "you have been sick" refers to a time that started in the past but is still true now, i.e. you are still sick.
