I struggle with -ive adjectives like cooperative, imaginative as I think it has long a like cooperAtion, but in fact it is not. So I have to check the pronunciation of every -ive word maybe I used to mispronounce it. Is there a rule for them?

Good question! the suffix -ative does not change the stress of the original word. imAgine --> imAginative I hope that helps!

A great lesson, Jenna! Thank you so much! ❤ Could you please make more videos like this? And I have a question, what about the word "photography"? The stress is on the second syllable. Is there also a rule to follow?

Thanks for the feedback! Please check out my pronunciation playlist for many more videos about word stress and other related topics. Great question about photography, and yes, there is a rule for that one. It's the same as #7 mentioned in this video. The stress is on the syllable before the suffix. photOgraphy, biOgraphy, etc.
