Video suggestion. Had discussion with my wife and she was trying to teach me "The kids are at Betty's ". She specifically mentioned "BettyGa". This brought to light the need to understand relation. Not in the family sense but with respect to I.e in, at, from, to(weda), outside of, next to etc. Thanks again

That's great! The type of words you're talking about are prepositions! I'm definitely planning on doing a video for prepositions! Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you for your videos! I was wondering if you could do a video about demonstrative pronouns (this, that). For example, "this is a pen" and "this pen is red." Thank you!

Another question... I’m struggling with adding the possessive endings (and plural endings, for that matter) when the noun ends in a different vowel sound. For example: Friend: ጓደኛ My friend: ጓደኛኤ? or ጓደኜ? Friends: ጓደኛኦች? or ጓደኞች? My friends: ጓደኞችኤ? or ጓደኞቼ? or...

Love this video - I’ve come back to it so many times. Would “your (m) dog” be “ውሻህ”? Or do I have to change the ሻ to ሸ to get the “eh” sound?

Just wanted know how this can be applied to plural. eg lijoch. BTW, as I mentioned previously these videos along with the qidasay(sp) in church are helping so much. My kids are soooo much further along as they teach at the Orthodox Church my family attends. But now they are watching these as well. Will mention these to the teachers. Thanks. Wife who is from Ethiopia says you do better than she can lol

To make it plural you can add och before adding the possessive ending. I'm so glad to hear that you're making progress! I remember you said that going to church was helping as well! That's awesome. Consistency and confidence are the keys!

So psyched for this video! :) Thanks so much. Quick question: For “her -“ can you use the “wa” version of the last letter or is the only correct way to write it with the “wa” letter added? For example: - house (ቤት) - her house (ቤቷ or ቤትዋ)
@howtospeakamharic7648
@howtospeakamharic7648 5 жыл бұрын
You’re absolutely correct to use that variation of the letter as well! I generally don’t use that letter variation to not confuse people who don’t already know of it, but it’s awesome that you do know it!
