In the Mexican dialect of Spanish we have a similar phrase to describe someone who’s always in a rush! It’s “se le está quemando los frijoles” meaning “their beans are burning” 😂 just like onions are apart of a lot of your dishes, we eat a lot of beans 😂❤️

@Th3h3kka. I'm Palestinian and I say mahrooqa too. You could say it either way. It depends what city and or time you grew up in Palestine. It depends on the dialect. There are two dialects Falahey فلاحى and Madaney. The Falahey is more like simple Peasant talk and Madaney is more like people from the city talk.

I tried to learn some Arabic a while back (few years) when I started following your lessons but I couldn’t understand anything and that was because I had nothing not a single word in arabic. Now few years down the line, I get everything you’re teaching which is a bit of progress but gosh takes a lot of Sabr … my dream is that one day in this life I’ll be able to speak Arabic fluently or as fluent as possible for someone that’s not native. @@jacobsoto7228 What she needs to do is create more videos that have a lot of Arabic dialogue it'll be so nice (God willing) We are all looking forward in seeing them & listening to them quite often for practice and for real life situations which will be very very useful sometime soon if she's not too busy teaching her students even she is a student herself but not for Arabic rather French and German

Could you do videos on vocabulary for specific hobbies? When we had to learn Spanish in school it was alot easier for me to engage with other speakers about topics I was passionate about like cars/motorsports or exercising. I was also able to consume more media/read more on these and learn more language from there. For Arabic though, It's a bit harder for me to find vocab for specific topics like this in a single place and when I try to watch videos or read articles there are too many words I don't understand.

Maha, I just found your channel and sub'd. I beg to differ w you that the "Q" at the end of many words is definately pronounced as such by millions of palestinians, including me and my peeps from Jenin and other cities. So, there are two ways to pronounce it, not just one "shammy" way. That said, I enjoyed your vid. Keep going.

Used this to describe one of my friends, when he was rushing me. They are two palestinian arabs. All I hear is them laugh and ask eachother in arabic "why is she talking about onions". The Arabic word iqra (إقرا) means "read" or "recite". Quran Arabic الْقُرْآن is from same root. Q-R-A root The Bible in Semitic Hebrew language is called Miqra (מִקְרָא) from the same root. Quran is Biblical Hebrew semitic word also.
