Its amazing to see how the river has frozen. Wrapping up ( similar to bundling up, no?) is the key to you staying warm. I've heard the term cold wave when there is a period of extremely cold weather I was looking up the terms you use, cold snap and cold spell, and I found that depending on the region, they use either of these three terms. By the way, spell and snap have multiple meanings as well. The same with the word tidbit, another new world for me. That is one of the reasons I love your lessons because as you speak naturally, we are learning new words and phrases in context. In one word = REAL ENGLISH.

Sliding on ice, the sound of walking on snow, the strange silence in extremely cold weather, the breathtaking patterns of bare tree branches against the deep blue sky, and the way cold air makes one aware of their own breath-this video brought back many details that transported me to my childhood memories.❄️☁️🥹 In the town where I grew up, the deep silence that settled over such weather allowed me to feel my presence in nature and reflect more deeply. This, in turn, helped me develop a stronger spiritual connection. It’s sad to know that experiencing this in the chaos of the city is no longer really possible. But thankfully, magical gifts like your video help bring those feelings back. Thanks a lot for this unique lesson! Have a great day! Bye 👋 😎 🌹 💐 ♥️

It's very important to bundle up in the winter, otherwise you will get cold or frost bite so make sure you have warm clothes on your body. To be warm you should have 3 or at least 4 layers on your body. I love seeing my breath through the cold weather, there is some magic in that. Whenever I go outside I try to take my thermos with tea. Thermos helps me to keep my tea hot. One more thing I love about winter is feeling a frost breeze. Sum it up, I'd like to thank you, Bob for a nice and useful lesson. Watching your videos I get better and better with pronunciation and grammar, whenever I watch your astonishing lessons I find out the new words I would have never known about. And the most integral part of watching your videos is that I can use phrases and idioms I got from your channel, specifically wherever. Consequently, I try to spend as much time as I can learning the basics. I have no doubt whatsoever that it will be precious and necessary for my future. ❤

The first one - if it is really cold about -18 as now it is almost every time really sunny and make us being a bit optimistic. Second one a long time ago i saw elderly people walking outside when it is really cold covering whole nose with a hand (in a glove for sure) preventing freezing their noses. Hi Bob, I think I've already asked this but I can't remember whom and when 😄 But did't get an answer I don't think. So, is there a noun in English that defines negative temperatures, below zero Celcius? So, discussing a weather back in the day when it was like -2, -5, or -10 or whatever minus, you can use that X word for negative temperatures to say e.g. 'it was X this Monday'. You can think of it as an extreme opposite of 'heat'. I've just thought Canadians might know and use such word if there is one 😀 Thank you!
@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian22 сағат бұрын
We always use the word "minus" or "below zero". It was -10c. It was 10 below zero. You can also just say: It was 10 below. 😎💰💵
@Kircaldy11 сағат бұрын
@@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian Nice! But what if we are not talking about a specific temperature, in degrees, but sort of the general concept? So anything below zero Celcius, is there a word for it? For example, will a word like 'frost' work? And is it commonly used in that sense? Or is there another (or maybe there isn't really)? Forgive my nerdiness! Thank you 🤓
