@@imagine10x85 . Look up the word "cannot" on google if it could be spelled as one word or not, I looked it up and they said that the word "cannot" could be written together as "cannot" or "can not". So, now you will know!!!

No, it's not a mistake. Threatened is in the past tense, the verb following it is in bare infinitve form.
