MyDear Alexa, Iam from India. I teach Hindi , the National Language of our mother land, in a High school. Alexa, You are one of. the best teachers I have ever seen in my life. The way you teach French is really wonderful.... wonderful...... wonderful. I try to learn French through your vedios. In my next message, I will write to you regarding my doubts. I love so much Alexa. At the age of 55 I am learning French only only because of you. Thank you so much. bye, Surya Kumari.

Dear Alexa, YOU just opened for me a beautiful French world. All my long life I've wanted to speak French fluently -I speak English, Spanish andJapanese fluently- but my heart is with the French language. Please, please make many more videos. Today -June 15, 2020- I "found" you and I watched you for almost an hour. You are an incredibly good teacher/tutor. I am a bit tired, so I will leave le verb "povoir" for tomorrow. Thank you so much for all the great things I learnt today. Merci!!

Very very useful. I've just written down all these tenses which are not that simple , but I think day after day I will be familiar with these patterns. Now I have to go back to duolingo to continue studying my lovely language.

I really like how you associate congregating verbs in French with the English counterpart. This makes it easier to understand. I am going to start the online classes "frenchwitalexa the first of the year. Thanks for the teaching and thanks for being you!!!!!

Alexa, can you please explain the noun-verb inversion resulting in "puis-tu" etc? Why does it change from the "normal" conjugation, and does it change in *every* present tense conjugation for 'pouvoir' when inverted?

Doesn't the condition tense of « pouvoir » also translate as "could" when "could" is the conditional form of "can"?

Hi, Alexa. Well done and thank you for a good job. You are indeed a blessing. I observed that the Imparfait and Passe Compose of "pouvoir" both mean "was/were able to" Does it mean I could use either of the two to denote what I could do in the past? Sometimes, the passe compose and imparfait of some verbs get me confused. Another one is which of the two verbs is good to denote "etre" and "aller" in the past more so that passe compose has dual meanings in English: past tense and past participle. I would be grateful for your response. Theophilus from Lagos, Nigeria

I just noticed voulvoir, devoir and pouvoir are a bit similar.. Like the front half of POUvoir is like VOUlvoir so present tense is similar .. And past tense of pouvoir is similar to that of devoir.. still not really a big pattern, just highly irregular.. At least it's a little bit similar 🥴🥴

@kellyconnell13806 жыл бұрын
Alexa why don't you use the word 'imparfait' instead of the english word Imperfect? The reason I say this is for consistency. Because you do use 'passe compose'..... Just saying.
