Hi Cindy. I really enjoy your videos, and you speak English so well with the cutest English accent. I just wanted to correct one pronunciation. When you say the word “adjective” you put the emphasis on the wrong syllable. Instead of adJECTive, it should be ADjective. Thanks! Fred in NYC

Hello Cindy, thank you for your excellent videos, I find them very helpful. I have a question, in some of your earlier videos you say "welcome to my channel" which I think you are saying "bienvenue sur ma chaîne" . I sort of expected you to say " to" rather than " on" would I be wrong to say " bienvenue à ma chaîne"?
@Frencheezi
@Frencheezi 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind words! 'Bienvenue à ...' is used when welcoming someone to a place, such as a town or theme park (e.g: Bienvenue à Paris). When referring to a channel, whether it be on TV or YT, you need to use 'sur' instead. Hope this helps :)

Si charmante! English people get superglued to the word beaucoup. Which is fine, but alternatives, depending on context, are "si tant de", "un tas de", etc. Similarly to an example you gave, sensible, I think one should be careful about saying that a person is spécial, which can be an insult. And a french person can describe a person as "simple" meaning a compliment, ie straightforward, honest, no airs and graces. Don't call a person simple in English!
@Frencheezi
@Frencheezi 5 жыл бұрын
This is so true. Calling someone special in English is usually a compliment, while in French it's more akin to calling someone odd. Definitely NOT a compliment lol.
