German is not so complicated, präpositionen are the only issue in German; there are too many verb-preposition combinations. Everything else is quite easy.

The prepositions all have songs too (that's how I learned them). The akk are set to the tune of "London Bridge is Falling Down" and goes durch, für, gegen, ohne , um, ohne, um, ohne, um, durch, für, gegen, ohne, um, bis, seitdem. And for dativ it's set to the tune of "Blue Danube" (trust me you know the tune even if you don't recognize the name you can look it up) and goes aus, außer, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu…and so on! Ich wünsche euch nach vielen Erfolg!

Old question, but in case anyone is still wondering: "bis" is also a subordinate conjunction (like "dass" and "seit"). In "Ich singe bis der Tag erwacht", bis is a conjunction not a preposition, so the preposition case rule doesn't apply.

She says durch like Gustav; it sounds like he's saying doish. He scowled at me when I said that. One of the few times he's scowled at me. In America we had a song to remember prepositions but I learned English without ever even knowing about the Case System. I never even needed it to learn Spanish. German is the only language I've learned where I needed to know what Accusative, Dative, Genitive and Nominative is.
