I’ve been searching for an easy to understand video to go along with my Hebrew lessons on duolingo and out of all the ones I’ve seen, this is by far the best explained and easiest to understand! Thank you!

Shalom Just came across the video. Toda Raba I Subscribed. Hope to come to Erets Yisrael soon Adonai willing. I love the Hebrew language. It’s a miracle that it came back as a national language. But Scripture is truth! Love your videos! If I learn Biblical Hebrew will it help with me learning the general speaking of modern Hebrew or do I need to learn that separately? 🇮🇱🇺🇸Toda Raba!

Question - in the example for dalet - David - why is there no bait (without a dagesh) for the "v" sound?
@restinpeace83152 жыл бұрын
Waw (Modern Hebrew Vav) is a consonant with /v/ sound in Modern Hebrew which is exactly *same as the sound of Beth (bait) without dagesh.* But Biblical Hebrew had different consonantal sounds for both the letters (/β/ for Beth without dagesh and /w/ for Waw). And David is a Biblical name and it is literally Dawid in BH and David in MH. Note: Vav(Waw) can also act as a vowel letter to represent uuhhh and ohhh vowel sounds.

@@restinpeace8315 Wow! Thank you so much for this explanation sir. That is so helpfull. I did not know this and understand the name of king David better now. Lots of love from the Netherlands
@juliaschouten59915 ай бұрын
May i ask. Is the title king/malech before the name Dawid? Like in English king David? Or is in Hebrew the title written after the name? Dawid king? Thank you

how do you prounce tet in ancient hebrew
@HebrewWithBen3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ariel, I can't say for sure. I believe that Tet sounded deeper, from the inside of the pharynx, similar to the Arabic Ta / ط. Tav sounded more like the English T.
