@McTrail Rider - Sometimes my GoPro Max pops up with the "Error/must format SD message" instead of formatting try removing the battery and put it back in again, then switch on the GroPro. From my experience it seems to get around this issue, letting you to record again without formatting and loosing any footage that's already saved on the SD Card. Hope this helps if it happens to you again. Love the videos, keep on shredding!
@McTrailRider3 жыл бұрын

I’ve got aWorx Hydroshot for cleaning the bike and I put the bike in the car or Seasucker it outside. I make sure to silicone spray all moving parts to drive out the water which is the main preventative thing I do for the bike.

Great Vid! I have the exact same issue with the wondering bite point on the brakes, shimano slx or xt per chance? New pads completely fixes the issue too. I came to the realisation that its trapped air in the caliper which gets pushed to the reservoir when new pads are added in, fixing the issue. A full bleed and a few syringes of brake fluid does get rid of the issue for a good few months until air eventually works its way back in through the piston seals. might be worth a shot!
@McTrailRider3 жыл бұрын
I have the same experience as you with my XT’s on the Highlander, which I can live with. These ones are the cheapest Shimano 4 pots you can get, and they run well for a very short time, as in two or three rides tops😔
@vanmore51243 жыл бұрын
McTrail Rider, love your videos. I'm thinking about getting an eMTB or a MTB. One option is a Scott hardtail MTB weighing about 9.5kg but will I be able to ride the rough trails in places like Torridon on it or would it be just too hard a ride? eMTB's are just so heavy I'm worried about lifing them over things or carrying them up steep bits of hill etc.
@leonardhaworth56323 жыл бұрын
I think it depends what you want to do, ebikes have a sweet spot where they balance out but if you mainly ride uplift/flat stuff or very steep climbs and decents it's not worth it, also in terms of a hardtail for the stuff in torridon it's doable but a full sus is more comfy and cheaper in the long run as bumps like that destroy bottom brackets on hardtails
@vanmore51243 жыл бұрын
@@leonardhaworth5632 Thanks Leonard. I wrongly thought a hardtail would give me fewer damage problems so that's great to know. I'm in Torridon quite often but have only cycled the roads.

Hard to say really, that’s very much either end of the scale (quite literally) of the bike world. I’d definitely recommend demoing an ebike first to see if you get on with it. Generally the bigger and stronger you are, the less of a difference you will feel riding an ebike.

They need to put double slots in GoPros ASAP for redundancy. It should be vital for people who use them professionally.
@McTrailRider3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that will never happen. The percentage of people the use GoPro’s professionally will bit tiny and the cost and space required to put a double slot into a GoPro just wouldn’t make sense. They should however double down on making the GoPro more reliable.
@iloveloam2763 жыл бұрын
@@McTrailRider I think there would be a high demand for a 'pro' version which would maybe include duel card slots. Gopros are relatively cheap and it's no wonder they are very unreliable, a more professional model would probably cost maybe £1500 but if it works every time, it must be worth the money. I'm a professional photographer and my Nikon bodies cost 5k plus, but they work every time for years and years. No surprise a £350 camera fucks ups.
@McTrailRider3 жыл бұрын
@@iloveloam276 as much as I’d love a pro version myself, I just don’t see them doing it. I just don’t think that they would sell that many. I wouldn’t personally pay £1500 for a GoPro even as a “professional”. I would maybe consider it if it was significantly better in low light, but there are several compromises that would come with the bigger sensor required to do so. It’s not unreasonable to expect it to be reliable at £350, Dji and Sony have made more reliable cameras at a similar or cheaper price. The issue that I’m having is the same as it’s always been, don’t be an early adopter of any electrical product, there are always issues initially, even with the likes of Apple etc.
